CHAPTER 10

5 years later...

“CHEF RYL, Ms. Cvonzen wants to talk to you for a while.” Napalingon ako sa aking sekretarya.

“Sure. Just tell her to wait for me for a couple of minutes.” Tumango si Sana.

I was about to get out of the room when I took a glance on my picture on the wall. Nakasuot ako ng chef gown ko. I can't help but to smile.

It's been five years since that accident happened. The accident...who ruined my life...

Nakalimutan ko ang lahat. I can't remember anything, or anyone. Nang magising ako sa mahabang pagkakatulog, nasa tabi ko ang pamilya ko. I can't even remember my own family. Not until they did everything for me to accept that they are my family.

I found out that I was in a comatose for a year. Tanging ang mga taong nagpapakilala lamang sa akin ang nakikilala ko. It seems like I'm just starting my life. Pakiramdam ko ay nagsisimula pa lamang akong kumilala ng mga tao. Hindi ko man lang alam kung ano ang nakaraan ko. I want to remember just a little something but it's too difficult. Wala talaga.

I sighed. Naglakad na lamang ako papalabas ng office ko bago pumunta sa conference room. Nakita ko si Ms. Cvonzen na nakatingin sa mga papel na hawak nito.

Tuwid ang likod na naglakad ako papalapit sa babae. “It's nice to see you again, Ms. Cvonzen.”

Nabaling ang tingin nito sa akin. “Oh.” She uttered, “Nice to see you again too, Ms. Evans.”

Nakipagkamay ito sa akin. “So, why do you have to talk to me?” She asked.

“Ahm, I want to take your restaurant for my nephew's birthday. Ako kasi ang assigned sa birthday party niya. So, pwede na?” She smiled.

“Sure. When will be his birthday?”

“Next Saturday.”

Tumango ako. “Sure. I will make sure to serve the best dishes that everyone would love to eat. And I will make the dishes myself.”

“Thank you very much Ms. Evans. It will be a great opportunity for us to have the best chef cook for us.” I nodded and smiled.

“You're welcome.”

“I will take my leave then. Bye.”

Nauna nang lumabas ang kausap ko. I smiled.

I'm thankful that my family helped me cope up with the happenings in my life. Mas naging madali ang pagtanggap ko sa mga nangyayari. Nakapagtapos ako ng pag-aaral at naging isa na akong chef.

I am now the owner of Ainez's Restaurant. One of the most famous restaurant in the country.

Dumiretso na ako sa elevator. And since the building is a four-story building, it will take time for me to get down to the first floor.

Not to mention that Ainez's Restaurant occupied this whole building. At bawat palapag ay may kanya-kanyang inihahandang pagkain. For the first floor, naroon ang mga pagkain maihahanda sa  umaga. Lunch and snacks are prepared in the second floor and dinner for the third floor. At sa pinakamataas na palapag, naroon ang kanyang opisina at silid pulungan.

Nang maabot ko na ang first floor, saka naman pumasok sa pinto ang kaibigan kong si Lara. “Hey! What are you doing here?”

Napalingon ito sa kanya. “Oh! Hi Ms. Chef! Actually, I have a very important breakfast date today.”

Kumunot ang noo ko. “Breakfast date?” Natawa ako. “Seriously? Tsaka sino naman itong kikitain mo?”

“It's him, Ryl. Bumalik na siya. My beloved man came back for me. Akala ko talaga e hindi na niya ako babalikan e.” Napangiti ako.
