2nd Chance Academy A CLEXA Story

First Night

As I entered the dinning hall for the second time today I felt an overwhelming feeling of nervousness. It was almost like this place is far too good to be true. As I walked around the giant room, I spotted a table with some familiar faces towards the back of the room.

"Over here Clarke." A girl yelled waving me over towards the direction of the table.

"Hey Octavia I said sitting down next to her.

Octavia was one of my friends from Ark prison. I was happy to see her and had so many questions to ask but first looked around the table to see some familiar and some un familiar faces around me.

Octavia must have noticed me looking at everyone and she quickly started introducing me to everyone at the table.

" Clarke this is my brother Bellamy Blake, he was in Skai prison and they were transferred here too." Octavia said pointing at her brother.

"These two goofballs are Jasper and Monty" Octavia continued. "and that guy over there is John Murphy." She said as she pointed out all the guys at our table.

"Hi guys" I said waving at all the men still not used to the presence of males after 2 years at Ark prison and only getting visits from my mom Abby.

"And these two girls here are Raven and Harper." Octavia added motioning towards the other two girls at the end of the table.

"Hi Clarke nice to formally meet you" the one introduced as Raven said as she waved politely at me.

"I recognize you guys from Ark." I said smiling towards them.

The eight of us were sitting and talking at a table in the back of the dining hall as we watched the last of the teenagers walk in and find seats. Suddenly a loud painful screeching sound filled the room as everyone quickly moved their hands to cover their ears.

"I'm sorry about that" a loud voiced said filling the hall as everyone turned to see where the noise was coming from. The Dean was standing at the front of the room, holding a microphone, dusting it off because it had fallen to the floor, which explained the horrible sound.

"Hello everyone. Tonight is a special night, because the last prisoners have joiner our program. We now have all 500 of you and the effectiveness testing of this facility can begin. Starting on Monday which is in 2 days, you will all be starting school. You are all between ages 14 and 18 so we will offer standard highschool courses with slight modifications as well as some additional courses for those of you with other interests. For now please sit back and relax and enjoy dinner. Welcome to 2nd Chance Academy." The Dean finished stepping away from the front of the dining hall.

"Wow this place is nothing like prison." Octavia said turning back around to face everyone at the table.

"Yeah you guys don't even know the half of it" Bellamy said as he lifted the covers off the trays in the center of the table and began to serve food onto his plate.

"What do you mean?" I asked as my mind curiously imagined what this facility was like.

"Well for starts it's mixed sexes." Bellamy began, and I saw Monty and Jasper high five each other smiling as they looked around the massive room filled with boys and girls.

"Also most prisons have gangs, but here it's super weird they have these groups of people called clans that make up this larger gang called the coalition."

"The coalition?" Octavia repeats looking just as intrigued as I am.

Bellamy nods and continues. "Yeah there are 13 clans and then there is the commander who is in charge of all 13. She's like the master of 2CA."

"2CA?" Raven repeated.

"2nd Chance academy." Murphy added. "The name sucks so we abbreviate."

"Anyways" Bellamy continued " if you want to survive here you gotta join a clan. I suggest you all join Skai Kru. That's the one I'm in charge of." Bellamy said proudly slightly puffing out his chest like a tropical bird trying to find a mate.

"And who it the commander?" I asked with curiosity lit across my face.

"Her name is Lexa Woods." Jasper started.

"I would not go anywhere near her if you can help it." Monty said, a scarring look on his face.

Murphy, Jasper and Bellamy swiftly nodded in agreement.

Well that's going to be a problem I thought to myself swallowing hard as I thought of my roomate, not quite ready to tell my new friends.

"Well I'm joining Skai Kru." Raven said, interrupting me from thinking about my roomate.

"Me too." Harper and Octavia replied together.

"What about you Clarke?" Bellamy asked smirking slightly as he waited for my response.

"Yeah sure, whatever." I said nodding to show I would do it.

"Great" Bellamy said smiling and looking around the table. "I have a meeting with the coalition tonight and I can bring one advisor. Wanna come Clarke?"

I was surprised when Bellamy asked me to come but I nodded my head and smiled. There was no better way for me to learn more about this place then to watch the people who supposedly run it.

The rest of dinner went by fast but I enjoyed talking and getting to know everyone. The experience at 2CA was so weird. I was legit in hardcore prison this time last night and now I'm somewhat free in a boarding school type facility. As everyone stood to head back to their dorms Bellamy handed me a napkin with some stuff scribbled on it.

The napkin said meeting is at 9:00pm in the courtyard between the girls dorms and the school. I started walking back to my dorm to get settled because it was only 8:00, but I walked slowly trying to avoid my room as much as possible. Is it really true that my roomate is the same Lexa Bellamy was talking about? I mean she didn't really look like a commander but then again when I asked her why she was here she did snap quickly. I finally ended up back at my door, and opened it slowly to find the room empty.

Thank god. I thought as I leaped on to my bed and closed my eyes. I knew I would have to face Lexa at some point considering she was my roomate, but I would really prefer to do it later rather then sooner.
