"I need to go to work," I tried hard to hold in the sigh that was coming out of my mouth as I buried my head deeper into my mother's back, my right hand tightly wrapped around her small ratio of a waist.

There was a sigh coming from her instead of mine. "This is why I need to work. I'm afraid you're working too hard Daisy. You should be enjoying your life out there, making friends, yet you're stuck here with me."

I sat up straight before she could talk more. "You always talk about how miserable our lives are whenever I complain even a little," I bit on my lip afraid that my voice was getting a bit too loud, the last thing I'd ever want to do was getting angry at my weak hearted mom.

"Look," I licked my lower lip before I proceeded slower than before. "I'm happy with my life mom. If I would ever be born again I'd like to be your daughter, at this point it's not even cheesy, what I'm saying, cause I have to tell you this everyday.

"I like the way I'm leading my life. I don't mind working. I'm still studying hard. I still got into Seoul university... I'll make friends soon too."

"Have you made any friends there?" Even though my last statement was really low her ears definitely picked it up. There was a hint of giggle following. At this point I realized again how my mom and I were so much alike.

Even though we both had our reasons to mature up before the time of our age, we both were a bit childish inside as well.

My mother being a sick woman yet refusing to take actual medicine and rather wanting to take the herbal ones, then there was me still unable to make friends when I had the university student label with me.

"Yeah... I did." I think.

"How are they like?" Mom asked in a soft voice, her back still facing me.

"Her name is Haneul. She's majoring in Korean literature. I met her in the English club. In our last club meeting we had to pair up with someone and practice a topic on English. Every pair was handed out different trending topics."

I tried to picture the girl with a messy ponytail and round glasses sticking out on her small face, wearing a grey hoodie that was too big for her. She even stuttered to say hi, but her English was surprisingly good.

"You didn't tell me you were in a English club. That's amazing darling!"

My mom still acted like I was a child.

But was I the one to tell? I really begged her to stop working and lay down with me just a few minutes ago.

"I only attended one club meeting till now. There's another this Monday." I bit my lower lip, looking down and drawing dribbles on the floral bedsheet using my index finger.

"Anyway the girl, Haneul seemed nice. She complimented my outfit for no reason. I was wearing a blue tee under a white shirt. I can't even remember how many times I'd worn the same shirt at University when it's only been more than a week since I started."

Mom burst into a fit of small giggles. "You really aren't like me on this. When I was close to your age I would always have a hard time deciding how I would dress up and-" She suddenly stopped on her tracks. "...It's not like you have much of a choice. If I only wasn't-"

"Again!" I threw my hands up in the air and soon I got off the bed. "You're really going all out with these talks again mom!"

Mom sat up from her position and looked at me for a second. "Okay I won't. I'm glad that the English club has been a blessing. My daughter's doing good and I'm proud." A smile flickered on her face when she finished saying it.

"Gee, thanks. Now I'll be going to the convenience store. You better take your medicines before you sleep."

It didn't take me any time to get ready but I didn't forget to bring my warmest coat and the materials I'd be studying while doing my nightshift at the store.

It was cold outside and when the warm atmosphere hit me as soon as I entered the lone store, I recalled the word my mom had said, "blessing."

Was it really? It was still hard to breathe there at the club for there were too many people, LOUD people, those seven club hosts were too bubbly for my taste except for two.

I could feel Im Changkyun often judging me with a side eye as he went on and cheered on everyone for their efforts (not me of course), and Kihyun, that smoker lad not even giving a shit in particular (which was the way I would have preferred) until I saw him giving a cold look once I accidentally glanced his way.

Or was I seeing too much into these? One hundred and fifty four people had joined the club, there was no reason for them to give me any special treatment.

But they did indeed go out to help and look over every member of the club they could.

"I'd like to pay for these," a pair of bandaids and a cold drink was on the cashier's table before me.

"Right away," I picked them up but right then I had to look up. That voice, it was too strangely familiar and too deep to be heard just anywhere.

It was a hooded man in black before me staring outside through the glass walls of the convenience store. His straight brown hair falling on his forehead to his eyes but I could see an eyebrow piercing and a piece of jewelry sitting right there underneath those bangs.

And then he turned to me and I could feel my stomach practically hitting the tiled floor.

"Changkyun?"
