Oh, she knows. Great, just great.
"You know what, hija, the last time I talked to Paul; he said he finally met a woman that caught her attention. He said you two are both good on the same field.
We are both good on the same field? Ako ba tinutukoy niya?
"And then Ian told me about what happened and what her brother did.
"I didn't know," tipid kong sagot.
"It's okay. I'm sorry you had to go through this alone," she said sincerely.
"Okay lang po. I think I can survive this," nakangiting tugon ko.
"I paid your bills. It's the least that I can do."
"But, Ma'am, you don't have to do that," nahihiyang tanggi ko.
And please, call me Tita Olivia," hinawakan niya ang kamay ko, "It is just so inconvenient that we meet in this kind of situation."
"Thank you."
"Get well soon. I hope to hang out with you when you get home, yes?"
*End of Flashback*
It's been five years pero wala pa rin.
Agad kong nilingon at nilapitan yun.
I pressed enter and a black chatbox appeared. And a long message. Bigla akong kinabahan habang binabasa ko yung mensahe.
O never say that I was false of heart,
Though absence seemed my flame to qualify.
As easy might I from myself depart
As from my soul, which in thy breast doth lie.
That is my home of love; if I have ranged,
Like him that travels I return again,
Just to the time, not with the time exchanged,
So that myself bring water for my stain.
Never believe, though in my nature reigned
All frailties that besiege all kinds of blood,
That it could so preposterously be stained
To leave for nothing all thy sum of good.
For nothing this wide universe I call,
Save thou, my rose; in it thou art my all.
A poetry? No, it's a Sonnet.
"Paul," mahinang sambit ko.
Who could this be?
Another message appeared.
Open up, I'm outside.
Unregistered number?
I answered it, "Hello?"
"Open the door, love, I'm outside."
And just like a robot, I went to the door and opened it.
And there he was, standing and smiling at me. And as handsome as ever.
"Paul?" hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko.
"Hi, I'm sorry if it took me so long," he was still smiling, "And I'm so sorry about what happened to you and to our baby."
Our baby.
"I know everything. I've been watching you from afar."
"That's creepy," I wrinkled my nose.
He chuckled, "No. That's romantic."
Then he kissed me. A long and passionate kiss.
After we withdrew from our kiss, he caught my left hand. At gaya nung pangako niya, isinuot niya ulit yung singsing na binigay niya sa akin dati.
"Where did you get that?" manghang tanong ko.
He winked at me, "I have my ways."
"Huh, creepy. As always."
