"Let go Happy, please! Peter he-he...." Happy pulled her close as she sobbed. She stretched her arm out as if trying to grasp something, as her other hand hit Happy's arms to let her go.

"Peter!" She screamed.

"He saved us..." Hank said in shock.

Rhodey held Pepper and Morgan tight. Morgan started crying, scared of what was going on.

He had moved the 3 of them away, having had a bad feeling. He was glad he did so.

"It was a bomb." Harley says. Everyone's attention turns towards him as he stares at the lake in horror.

"Someone attempted to murder Pepper. By the time she was done with a speech, as she was ready to set it out, it would have exploded, killing her and Morgan..." He says, realizing it.

Everyone was horrified.

"But who would do such a thing...?" Clint asked.

"I don't know... A lot of people hated Tony so maybe that was their way of getting back at him?" Hank said.

"Peter...." May shakily walked towards the lake after Happy finally let go of her. She picked up a ring that had fallen from Peter's pocket.

It was Peter's. He bought matching ones with Tony a few years ago as a 1 year anniversary gift of knowing each other.

She slowly walked towards Morgan and Pepper who were crying.

"May I'm so so sorry-."

"It's not your fault Pepper... You know my boy.... He's Spider-Man, a selfless, heroic, lovable idiot." She said chuckling a bit. She had tears running down her face, but she simply wiped them away.

Everyone but Happy, Rhodey, and Pepper were shocked by her statement.

That 18-year-old boy was Spider-Man.

That 18-year-old, died saving them.

May kneels down in front of Morgan, giving her a smile.

"You know, Peter wanted to give you this on your birthday. He and your dad bought matching ones a few years ago. I think about maybe 7 or 8 years ago." May says, showing her the ring.

It was a plain gold band. But on the inside the initials. 'TS' and 'PP' were engraved.

"Thank you, Miss May..." Morgan says. May's smile widens, taking Morgan's hand out, and slipping the ring on.

It of course was far too big for her finger, but she would grow into it.

"Let's all head inside..." Pepper said.

"No can do. We should send someone in to check the house before going in. Someone just tried murdering you, and I'm not letting Peter's sacrifice go to waste." Steve said, taking charge right away.

"I can go in." Scott says.

"No, let me. You have a daughter waiting for you at home. I don't have anything else to lose." May says.

"But-." Clint tried arguing, only of course to fail. I mean it was May, he wasn't gonna win in an argument with her.

"I lost my husband years ago. I don't speak to my side of the family. I lost Peter's parents when he was five due to a plane crash caused by HYDRA. And now I've lost Peter. I don't have anything left to lose." May says, with a sad smile.

"Still, you need someone who can protect you-." Steve tried.

"Peter's parent's where double agents. Worked for the CIA and undercover agents that infiltrated HYDRA. My husband was a marine. And I was a soldier. I know how to take care of myself." May says.
