I think about the people who deserve me
I think about the ones who didn't deserve me
Think about the ones who did me dirty
I won't let you close enough to hurt me– Close enough to hurt, Rod Wave

Dominic Jones

"Having negative thoughts play out like a movie can only bring you pain, something that I’ve experienced many times throughout my life. Negative thoughts drain you of energy and keep you from being in the present moment. The more you give in to your negative thoughts, the stronger they become. I like the imagery of a small ball rolling along the ground, and as it rolls, it becomes bigger and faster."

Dom looked at his therapist and nodded. It's been an hour of nonstop talking and in all honesty he was ready to go.

"How do you cope with stress Dominic? What are your fears? Like what are you afraid of? You have to talk about something other than your family and your wife."

Dom continued to ignore her. Placing his hands on either sides of the chair.

"Talk or don't talk nigga, either way it goes this session coming out of your pockets."

Dom chuckled, turning his head towards her. "I don't know who the fuck you think you talking to but it ain't me. I'll be back when I'm ready to talk. Until than god bless Mrs. Rashad."

She shook her head and stood up. Walking towards the couch she sat down next to Dom and grabbed his arms before he could stand up. She grabbed the sides of his face before speaking.

"Only reason why I haven't given up already is because I'm intrigued. I am intrigued by the smile upon your face, and the sadness within your eyes. You are a grown man, don't be afraid to speak your truth. Your hurting, ain't nothing wrong with that. Just put your pride to the side and talk to me." She let go of his face and walked back to her seat

Dom wiped his eyes and sat back, slouching as he looked up at the roof.

"Your my only session today Dominic, we have time. I'll only charge for the original two hours and after that it's free of charge."

He bit the side of his cheek, clenching and unclenching his jaw every so often. "I don't know anymore." He mumbled softly

He paused for a second before speaking up. "I put my trust in the wrong ones, just for them to turn their backs on me when shit hit the fan." Dom shook his head and chuckled

"Stupid of me right? Then niggas want to pop up all of a sudden." He sighed rubbing his hands over his face

"And I ain't gone lie, I don’t like any of them niggas, them niggas ain’t got no respect for anything. I’m a real man and I stand on what I believe in... I don't slime my mans out, I take care of my family, and I’m a supporting asset to my wife. So in reality it's fuck those niggas– you know what I'm over it. I lose old niggas but I gained a new one who got a family that loves me as much as mine and Kia's."

"Now that we're comfortable let's talk about your suicidal episode."

"We'll talk about that another time. Nice talking to you but I miss my wife so I'll see you." Dom stood up grabbing his keys. He made it to the door but paused his actions. "Thank you Mrs. Rashad." He mumbled before walking out completely

He walked out of the building into the parking lot. Hopping in his car to go home hoping Kia was there.

"Dom imagining a life without you is something that is impossible, you make me complete and I want you to know that I love you. You mean the world to me and I'm sorry if I ever made you feel like you don't." Kia said as soon as Dom walked through the door

Dom closed the door and looked at her confused. "Kia we are fine, I told you that."

"Baby." Kia mumbled softly

Walking out of the kitchen with a teddy bear in her hand.

"What's all this? I love you beary much." He chuckled taking the bear from her hand

Kia grabbed his hand and dragged him in the kitchen. "I'm just showing my appreciation."

He noticed the dimmed lights. Looking at the table at the dinner that Kia prepared. Also the candles and rose pedals around. Dom sat the bear on the cabinet and pulled Kia to him.

"Kia what's wrong? Talk to me love."

Kia laid her head on his chest. The sound of sniffles caught his attention. Dom pulled back and grabbed the sides of her face making her look him in the eyes.

"What's wrong?" He asked softly

Using the pad of his thumb to wipe away her tears. "Talk to me."

"I can't go into details, but in the end I'm still looking at jail time. Dom I don't want us to be separated no more." She sniffled

"Kia don't worry about that right now." He kissed the top of her head hugging her tightly

"Dom I'm scared. What if we don't? Then we won't be able to start a family I want to have all of your kids. No more swallowing let's go make a baby right now. It's only r–." She rambled on

Dom cut her off by kissing her. Kia moaned deepening the kiss. He pulled back licking over her lips before biting her bottom lip.

"Kia." Dom chuckled snapping in her face

He stared back getting lots in her eyes. "I got something on my face?" Kia asked rolling her neck

"You staring to hard love." He kissed her cheek

Moving the hair from her face Kia blushed. "You still give me butterflies." She said softly, rubbing her fingers through his beard and tugging at it

"Dom promise you'll never leave me." Kia said softly

Dom grabbed her hand and placed it on his heart, doing the same he placed his hand on her heart while they listened to their heartbeats sync.

"I promise." He mumbled laying his forehead against hers

Kia nodded closing her eyes. "The dinners cold." She said softly making him chuckle
