I pick up the Whiskey sour and take a long sip "It's pretty good newbie."

"Let me try that." she takes it from my hands and places her lips where mine had just been sipping the drink, damn, I'm jealous of a cup.

"Hmm." She hums out as she nods "Not bad at all." she places the glass down "So, how much longer until I can get behind the bar and start serving?"

"I told you, you're training with me this week, and maybe next week I'll let join the night shift, but I'll be with you your first official week"

"Why? Don't you trust me."

"I'm not going to throw you into the deep end without floaties."

She stares at me

"I'm the floaties." I point to myself

"Got that." she nods slowly as a smile creeps onto her face one more.

I check my watch and turn my attention back to her "Three O'clock, and I think we're done here." I pull my wallet from my pocket and pull out one hundred and fifty dollars and hold it out to her "This is for today."

Reluctantly she takes it from me "Uh, isn't this a little too much money, I mean I didn't really do anything."

"You were here for five hours and it's part of your training for you get paid." I shrug. "I have your contract for you in my office if you'd like to look over it?"

"Sure." She nods

We head into my office and I take my seat, she sits across from me and I slide the contact towards her. The contract is a few pages long, legal things and all the usual rubbish you have to put in these things so I'm sure it'll take her a while to get through it. I pull out some of my paperwork and begin work.

After a few minutes, I look up and study her as she flicks through the pages of the contract reading every line with a face full of thought. Looking up at me, she catches me watching her bites down on her bottom lip.

"What?" she questions

"Nothing." I shrug and get back to my own work.

I look back up a moment later and find her still starring at me with a soft smile.

"What?"

"Nothing." she grins and flicks the contact closed "It all looks good, do you want me to sign it now?"

"Sure, if you want to sign it."

"I have just one question"

"Shoot"

"Do you pay everyone the same amount? Twenty-five dollars and 100% of tips?"

"It would be unprofessional of me to discuss other employees' contacts."

"It would be unprofessional if you to pay me more just because you feel sorry for me." She fires back

"I don't feel sorry for you, I like you," I say a little to causally

"You like me?" She asks with wide eyes

"What's not to like? You seem like a nice girl, I'm sure we could be friends eventually."

"Nowhere in my contract does it say I have to be your friend." She laughs

"Cute." I grin and pile up the paperwork I'd be working on. "Are you going to sign it?"

"Yes." She smiles and reaches over placing her hand on mine, her thumb stroking mine softly

"Uh," I breath out and look down at our hands

"I need the pen." She slides the pen from my grasp and signs the contact handing it back to me. "Thank-you." She smiles

"For?"

"Giving me a job when I needed it most, I'll try not to let you down."

I doubt you'd ever let me down...

"You won't." I shrug "Now go and enjoy the rest of your day, do whatever it is you do in your free time."

She stands up from the desk and pushes her chair in. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow, tonight, whenever you'd like." I grin up at her.

"Are you flirting with me, Mr Raven?"

"What if I am Miss Black?"

"I didn't see that in my contact anywhere either."

I stand up from my desk and take a step closer to her. I place my hand on her waist and pull her closer, whispering "Would you like it to be?"

She lets out a deep breath and closes her eyes, not speaking a word at our closeness.

"I'll see you tomorrow morning, and the names Easton, there's no need to be so formal sweetheart." I move back and lick my lips.
