Chapter Sixteen - A Suitable Dress

Start from the beginning

I must have tried on about a hundred dresses and, between us, we managed to reject about ninety seven of them leaving us with a choice of three. There was a simple but elegant black thing which showed off an awful lot of my back, a white one with a deep V neck and a puffy skirt, and a strapless, red number made of silk that clung to my body like a second skin and seemed to be held up by pure sexiness. They didn't really feel like me but Jenny was right when she said that they were what Master was after! They were all much shorter than anything I'd have ever worn before but, by now, I was used to wandering around starkers!

At that stage, Jenny suggested that Mr Bossy might like to make the final choice. That seemed like a really good idea; it was almost as if she'd done this sort of thing before!

Then shoes started to appear. I don't know where they came from because there didn't seem to be any in the shop. I guess they had a team of box carrying minions dashing backwards and forwards from shoe shops.

We quickly agreed on two pairs. One was a pair of fairly neutral court shoes - they had a bit of a heel but still let me move sensibly. The other was a much more formal pair with a spiked heel. I'd never worn anything like that before and they were tricky to walk in but Jenifer told me that they matched the dresses perfectly. They certainly looked amazing.

At last we were done and she led me to a lounge type bit at the back of the shop with comfy armchairs. Cups of cappuccino magically appeared and we were soon chatting comfortably. Within a couple of minutes, I found myself telling her a carefully edited version of my life story. "I had to run away from home," I explained, "and when he found me sleeping in his dustbin shed, he suggested I come in for the night. Since then, he seems to like having me around."

"I wish someone like that would like having me around," she said, almost to herself.

I chose not to mention the finger choppy or human pet bits and just said, "It has its ups and downs."

Of course I felt terribly guilty when Master returned to find me sitting on furniture and drinking coffee like a normal human being. He half raised one eyebrow but then gave me a lovely smile.

When we explained the dress situation to him, he took me into the changing room and politely told Jenny to wait outside for us. I modelled the three dresses for him sitting, standing and kneeling and he seemed to like what he saw.

Then I tried the shoes on. He liked the flat ones but when I put on the heels, he started laughing.

"What?" I demanded.

"Well, you look extremely elegant in them when you're standing still but when you try to move... you do look rather like a stork walking on an icy pond!" he told me.

I just stared at him. He never said nasty, mean things like that to me and, worst of all, I knew it was true. Tears started to well up inside me.

He must have seen that I was upset and so he stepped across to take my hand. "Kitten," he said in a Mr Bossy tone that grabbed my attention. "I've made you a promise about lying to you. What was it?"

"That you wouldn't do it," I answered with a sniff.

"Not even..." he hinted.

"Not even to make me feel good about myself." I gave a sigh. I suppose he was right. He had made that promise and so I had to take the rough with the smooth.

But I was still totally frustrated. "You try and walk in the things, then!" I exploded at last.

"Kitten! We have plenty of privacy in here for me to put you over my knee and spank you!" he warned me though I could tell that he wasn't totally serious. "And, anyway, I don't think they make them in my size!"
