"Y-Y/N..." Tanjirou said standing in front of you, his face red as he averted his eyes to anywhere but you.
"Yes, Tanjirou?" you asked smiling, Tanjirou's heart started to beat even faster when his name rolled out of your tongue, and that smile, that god damn smile of yours.
"I...I..." he trailed, while you waited patiently.
"Gonpachiro that coward! Just say it already!" Inosuke, who was hiding behind a wall along with Zenitsu, said.
"Shh! They'll hear you!" Zenitsu shushed the other male.
"If he's not gonna say it, I will!" Inosuke said as he started marching towards where you two are, but Zenitsu quickly ran and hold him back.
"Get off of me- I'm going to help him!" Inosuke said as he attempt to push Zenitsu away.
"No! Leave it to him-!"
"I...I love you!" Tanjirou said as his face reddened even more, occasionally glancing at you to look at your reaction.
Inosuke and Zenitsu stopped, looking at you with anticipation, they both know the answer already, the way you always look at Tanjirou say it all out.
Your eyes widened as a faint red creeped up your cheeks, you bit your lips and look down.
"I'm sorry, I can't accept your feelings" you said, hands clammy.
Zenitsu and Inosuke's jaw dropped as they froze, slowly moving their eyes to their burgundy haired friend, who just got rejected.
"You deserve better" you whispered to yourself, not intending to let the male in front of you to hear.
"I'm sorry, I have to go" you said as you quickly walk away, Tanjirou stood there stunned, looking at your back figure.
His two friends slowly walk to him, Zenitsu started talking first,
"T-Tanjirou...are you okay...?"
Tanjirou's shoulders slumped, a frown visible on his face.
"No...I mustn't give up!" Tanjirou shook his head as his determination came back.

"Y/N! Can I train with you?"
"Here's some rice balls Naho-chan made! You want some?"
"You want me to accompany you? It's safer that way"
"Be careful on the mission, okay?"
After the confession, Tanjirou don't seem to be giving up at all, he even became more affectionate towards you.
It made you worried, honestly. Now you feel even more that you don't deserve this angel.
"Y/N!" you froze as you hear the familiar voice, turning around, Tanjirou was jogging to you, he gave you a wave.
"Tanjirou..." you whispered under your breath.
"Did your mission go well? Are you hurt?" he asked as you blushed at his concern towards you, after all, you do have feelings for this boy.
"I'm fine, thanks for asking" you smiled, his face lit up.
"You want to have dinner together with us? I made a new dish Kanroji-san taught me a while ago!" Tanjirou exclaimed happily.
"Sure" you couldn't help but smile at his cheerfulness, you were glad that the rejection didn't affect him much.
"Here" Tanjirou said as he grabbed a tempura using his chopsticks, placing it on your bowl which was filled with food Tanjirou have previously gave you.
"Oh, is it too much?" Tanjirou asked worriedly.
"No, it's fine" a faint pink on his cheeks when you gave him a smile.
"Hey! I wanted that!" Inosuke yelled at Tanjirou.
"You can have mine" Tanjirou smiled and gave Inosuke his own tempura.
"Inosuke!" Zenitsu scolded while Inosuke gladly accepted the food Tanjirou gave.
You smiled softly at the scene, then look down,
"Tanjirou..." you called out softly.
"Hm?" Tanjirou hummed and gave you his attention.
"Why...why do you still do all this? After I...you know" you murmured.
Zenitsu glance at you two before quickly placing his bowl and chopsticks down and standing up,
"Inosuke, let's go"
"Huh why-"
"LET'S GO" Zenitsu pulled Inosuke with him before sliding the door shut.
"Why, you ask?" Tanjirou tilted his head.
You nodded, waiting for his answer.
"You thought I deserved better, right?" your eyes widened in shock, you didn't know that he heared you.
"I was devastated, after you rejected me, but I heared those words! And I thought that, maybe, just maybe, that...you share the same feelings too" he said as his voice gone softer, he look away, face red.
"So I'm not giving up!" he face you again, this time, with confidence.
He grabbed your hands, holding them with his own and look into your E/C orbs.
"Y/N...please don't think like that. If anything, I should be the one who don't deserve you" he gave you warm smile.
You were speechless, you couldn't form any words out.
"So please, please give me a chance to make you the happiest girl in the world, I promise." he look into your eyes and waited for your answer,
You lunge at him, wrapping your arms around him as you smiled widely, a single nod was enough to make his heart burst in happiness as he returned the hug.
