Chapter 26

I just looked at him, expecting an answer. He smiled, combed my hair to the back of my ears and lifted my chin up then looked at me with a smile on his face. "I won't lie and you know I can't lie to you.." He trailed off and moved closer.

"There are a few changes. But I know it's still you. Zia Muirgen Allison-Wen. The lion who roars like a kitty." Agad akong natawa dahil sa sinabi niya at pumasok na kami sa training site pero bigla nalang tumunog 'yung alarm.

"Warning. Unauthorized creature detected."

Kuya Ash just backed off a bit and the alarm went silent. Right, we forgot about the security of the training site. Tanging myembro lang kasi ng replacement team ang pwedeng pumasok sa site. If random creatures try to break it, they'd get shot on sight.

I don't know why this system is so tight.

"See you by lunchbreak then." Nakangiting sabi ni Kuya Ash sa akin at itinaas ang kamay niya. I just stepped out a bit from the site and walked to Kuya Ash just so he could ruffle my hair. Mahina nalang akong natawa at tsaka na nagpaalam sa kanya.

Kumaway pa ako at pumasok na ng tuluyan sa training site.

"You seem so happy when someone pets your hair. Are you a cat, huh Zia?" Agad akong tumingin kay Lucas na nandito na pala sa loob ng training site. He had his arms crossed and he was sitting on one of the sofas at the resting area.

Hindi ko nalang siya sinagot. He's going to spark an argument again and I'm tired. I'm not in the mood for that.

"Alright! Can I see you after this?" Sabay kami ni Lucas na tumingin sa entrance ng training site kung saan nag-uusap sina Blu at Trinity. Blu just lightly shook his head and brushed his nape as a polite gesture. "I don't think so. We have training." Nakangiting sagot ni Blu kay Trinity.

Napansin ko namang umirap lang si Lucas.

"Another pair of lovebirds." Aniya kaya tinaasan ko lang siya ng kilay.

"Wow, coming from someone who smiled immediately after seeing Chloe." Agad na nanlaki ang mga mata ko dahil sa lumabas sa bibig ko. Did I just say that out loud? I didn't, right? Agad akong tumingin kay Lucas na kunot-noong nakatingin sa akin.

"What? You have a problem with that? You want me to smile at you too? Huh, you little attention seeker?" Tanong niya at dahan-dahan nang tumayo at naglakad palapit sa akin. I just looked at him, not even blinking. Ugh. When will he stop calling me an attention seeker?

I never asked for such a ridiculous thing.

"I'm not having this conversation with you." Aalis na sana ko pero agad namang hinawakan ni Lucas ang braso ko at hinila ako.

"No, we are having this conversation, kitty cat." Kumunot kaagad ang noo ko dahil sa tinawag niya sa akin. He even emphasized it.

"What did you just call me?" Tanong ko at humarap na sa kanya. We didn't even realize that Blu was already in front of us, trying to break us apart but I don't know what got into me or what is with Lucas that makes me riled up like this. He always has this attitude where my calmness immediately fades away because of it.

"Okay, that's enough." Blu said, trying to take Lucas' hand off my wrist pero ayaw niya itong tanggalin. We were looking at each other and I really want to break his face.

That's it. That's the last string. I really want to break his face. Forget being nice. I'm so done with him.

"Alright, that's enough!" I immediately sensed fire coming towards us kaya sabay kaming tatlo na umilag dahil dito. Agad kaming tumingin dun sa front stage at kumunot kaagad ang noo ko dahil sa nakita ko.
