Chapter 3

Previously!

You and Tanjiro looked at the young male with a green haori with confusion and looked at each other, asking the same question, 'What's going on?' Both you and your friend peered around a large tree and saw it. Fear drumming within your ears, you squished yourself right next to Tanjiro holding your haori intensely as both of your backs were glued to the tree. The sounds being emitted by that demon...no, by that thing, were grotesque and horrifying. You and Tanjiro both panted with fear before peering around to look at the thing once more. Multiple green arms wrapped around the things jello like body as it slowly followed the running male. You only stared at it horror as your body trembled.

"What the hell did they bring in here?"

On to Chapter 3!

Adrenaline raced through your body, kicking in the fight or flight instinct. 'Why the hell is that thing even in here?! Is that the demon that culls out the weakest?!' So many thoughts flew through your mind while your knuckles began to whiten from holding on to your haori so tightly. You watched as the male in the green haori trip over a large, tree root, making you worry about him not getting up. You watched with horror as the demon inched closer to the young demon slayer before stopping right in front of him. 

You couldn't see it before, but now you could clearly see what the large demon was holding. In one of its many, grotesque hands, it was holding a lifeless demon slayer. Lifting the decease individual above it's head, it opened its mouth. It was only something that you would see in your vivid nightmares when you were a young child. It ate the entire body whole before grinding the young, deceased males body in between its hidden teeth. 

It's body grew after digesting the freshly caught young blood. It's body morphed into something larger, something that made your breath hitch, "We shouldn't mess with that thing Tan-" You were about to say, but cut yourself off as it slowly brought up its arm, 'What is it aiming for?' The demons hands slowly began to become one, it was as if it was spring-loading its arm. Like a rubber band finally getting flung, it's hand flew at incredible speeds while other, needy hands opened up at the young male with the green haori who completely left your mind. 

Your back completely left the tree and ran out in to the open area as you watched the young male get dragged towards the demon. "Tanjiro! We have to move!" Was all that you screamed before you sprinted at the demon, Tanjiro leaping above you. Using the same move as before, "Breathe of Destruction, first form!" With all your might, you drove your sword into the ground, "Break!" The ground shook intensely before completely giving out underneath the demon and you. The demons extended arm on the green haori boy quickly extended into the air, which Tanjiro quickly took advantage of by slicing its arm with one of his many forms. 

Leaping away from the demon and running to Tanjiro's side, you watched as the large monster used one of its many hands to support itself from one of your moves. Once all the way back up, it looked at its bleeding arm and then at Tanjiro, completely ignoring your being and the male behind the two of you.

The demons eyes locked on to Tanjiros mask which you never noticed during this entire time, 'He had that this entire time? How have I not noticed?' You questioned yourself. 

"Another sweet little fox has come to me." It said, you could see it smiling slyly as it said those words. "Another?" You questioned aloud. It merely giggled at your questioned before hushing you and speaking with your red-eyed friend once more. "Little fox cub, what is the year of Meiji now?" It asked as its arm grew back once more. Hesitantly, "It's the Taisho period now!" Tanjiro responded. "Taisho?" It said slowly, before its eyes shrinked to an unbelievable size. 

You flinched once it started to have a tantrum on the ground as it wailed about how time passed into a new period, "That's what time does..." You said under your breathe, confused as to why this demon was so upset. "Do you think he's been in here for a long time, Tanjiro?" The male  watched the demon wail as he responded, "Most likely. It wouldn't make sense if he was wailing otherwise." You nodded in agreement as the demon began to scratch itself to the point of bleeding. It's deep scratching poured blood onto its body, making yours, Tanjiros, and the unknown males eyes widen with shock. The demon screamed with anger as its pupils looked up to the sky with anger and frustration. "Unforgivable! Unforgivable!" It screamed, its body beginning to shake uncontrollably. "Damn you, Urokodaki!" It screamed multiple times, catching Tanjiros off-guard. 

"How do you know Mr. Urokodaki?" Tanjiro asked as the demon cursed Tanjiro's masters name. You listened as the demon spoke with a fiery rage of how he was captured by Tanjiro's master 47 years ago. "47 years?!" you said with disbelief. "Correct!" It said to your comment. "It was when he was still hunting demons! It was the Edo Period during the Keio Era." You only stared with disbelief, "Holy shit," you whispered under your breathe as Tanjiro said something else. But the boy behind you and Tanjiro screamed at the monster, yelling about how no demon could live that long, and that all demons that were here would only live for about two or three months before being killed by demon slayers or cannibalized by others. 

The large green demon stared at the green haori boy now, saying how he went against all odds and that we still there, alive and thriving. "Inside this wisteria prison, I've eaten at least 50 of you brats." Your jaw dropped at its words, "No wonder hes at such a terrifying size then..." You said, as you watched the demon count from 11 to 13. "That makes you number 14!" It giggled, while all his hands were pointing right at Tanjiro. "What do you mean 14?!" Your maroon-haired friend demanded, his eyes exposing his disbelief. Your eyes bounced from him back to the demon multiple times, and as your eyes landed on the demon, it was giggling like a young girl who just heard some secret. "The number of Urokodaki's disciples I've eaten, that's what." It giggled again before saying how he made a promise to kill every one of Urokodaki's disciples. Both you and Tanjiros eyes widened as it continued to speak about two very specific individuals. This caught your friend by surprise, "Do you know the two he's talking about, Tanjiro?" You asked quietly. "Yes, b-but I was with them!" He said, confusion and shock painted on his face like the markings on his fox mask. 

The demon pointed at Tanjiro's mask and proudly described how he could tell if a young demon slayer was a disciple of Urokodaki. You could see on Tanjiros face that a boiling hatred was beginning to overflow within him, "Tanjiro, calm down, you don't know what this demon can do." You tried to say to him, but his breathing only became more and more rough and his eyes began to sharpen. "Urokodaki might as well have killed them himself!" The demon said with joy as it giggled once more. You looked at it with shock as you continued to listen to it. "When I said that to the girl, she was crying and fell into a rage." It said, like it was reminiscing a pleasant memory, "And right after that, she lost control of her movements. I ripped off her limbs, and then..." Once you heard the demon pause, you immediately knew what he was doing. "Tanjiro! Don't fall for his tricks! He's only trying to get you to go after him!" But your words never entered the thick-skulled boy. He merely muted out your words and looked at the demon with darken eyes, 

'That light in his eyes, they're gone...'

I'm going to split this chapter into two! It's really dragging on and would much prefer to keep these chapters under 2000 words! And not only that, I'm really on a roll on pumping out these chapters! Have a great whatevertimeitisforyourightnow!
