But now with a sudden look of fear, you spoke with worry, "Wait, Akara! Even if you used those types of weapons, they will have barely affected Asumi!" Your eldest sibling now narrowed her eyes towards you, "What?" You could feel the air slowly becoming dominated by a terrifying presence, "Akara," sudden black spikes now shot out of the ground in front you both,

"Asumi's a Upper Moon Six Demon!"

On to Chapter 54!

The earth below you and Akara bellowed as it ripped itself in half by the unknown forces commanded by your demonic siblings will. With a surprised inhale and eyes shrinking in size from the incoming forces, your sister moved swiftly to evade the rising spikes that reached towards the black sky. The earth groaned in pain as the mischievous spikes of radiating black speckled their sinister presence towards your running sibling and you.

Grunting and heaving from having to evade so suddenly and using much of her own energy towards the offensive attack towards Asumi and coming for you, Akara had little to no energy in order to continue moving. The spikes sprinted faster now, like waves of shadows corrupting the ground and cracking it with ferocity. The unleveling of the ground began to topple the homes that once stood tall, spreading the wild fires within your town and causing dust storms to form. With fear in her eyes and your hands clenching your elder siblings shoulders, there was only one thing left to do to ensure your own safety.

Using the remaining energy that she had left, Akara focused it all into her legs into one last leap to evade the following spikes- like rabid dogs continuing their jaw-dropping pursuit towards their prey. You looked up into your siblings eyes and saw them, half-closed, yet filled with love that could only come from family that held one another so dear. Quietly, yet with a shake, "(Y/N)..." You felt her hands slowly begin to release you, "forgive me." Eyes widening in fear as they processed themselves within the depths of your mind. "N-No! Akara!" You desperately tried to grab at her kimono, causing it to rip at where you had grasped with the fear of death encapsulating your sister. "Keep moving, (Y/N)!" Akara's eyes now brimmed with tears that glistened in front of the black jabs. "I'll find you, I promise! I'll make sure that I hear you calling for me- from now till the end!"

Your arm stretched out as you now fell to the ground, only grasping the dismal security of the air. A shriek could now only come from you as the black cones from the depths of the earth inched their way closer to your family member. And in the moments of falling to the unopened arms of the ground, you saw the fear that Akara was holding back in her eyes- all of it surfacing into her face as her eyes clutched themselves shut- a final act of security in the opening jaws of the enemy.

They enveloped her under the eavesdropping night sky and lusterless moon and fell to the ground with a catastrophic crash, rumbling the area and spreading more dust into the air. Within moments of finally meeting the cold clutches of the ground, a din could be heard. Over and over, and over again it came from the same area- the same area that had encapsulated your sibling. Clutching your ears as you clenched your jaw from the pain of loud and persistent noise, you made haste to run away from the area. Remaining any closer would surely take your hearing.

Clambering on the ground to get up and grabbing your sheathe, you ran with your aching legs that screamed with stinging and fire. After finally running away far enough, another figure could be seen inching closer to you. Squinting your eyes to see who was coming towards you as your body braced for the worse, it had relaxed as fast as it had tensed up. Relief washed over you as you realized who was making their way towards your painful self. Hiccupping, "Aiko!" Your voice coming out with a croak of dehydration and desperation. In the distance Aiko had heard your cry and now moved faster towards you as she cried out your name. Finally coming into view with an orange glow surrounding her body from the nearby flames, her blue kimono signaled to you a sense of safety that your body desperately desired.

Super sorry for the unneeded long delay, I've suddenly been hit with so many things at once when the new year began! But here's a short chapter for now!

Lots of angst is imminent! Especially in the next chapter!

After that is hopefully super epic fighting moment 👀
