Day With Dani

I'm excited to meet Dani! I woke up around 6 and got myself together. I told Dani I would be at her house at 9 and although it's only an hour drive I want to leave a half hour early in cafe of traffic or stops. I'm getting breakfast now then I'll get Gracie up and ready. I just make some eggs and eat them.

"You're up early" Demi states

"We all know I'm not a morning person do in trying to wake myself up before going to get Dani" I say

"Smart" Demi says

After talking to Demi for a few minutes I go upstairs and get Gracie up. I change her clothes real quick then get her diaper bag together. I get her in the car seat and head out at exactly 7:30. My plan actually worked for once. There are only a couple stops and little traffic but we manage to get to Dani's at 9. I get out, grab Gracie and knock on the door. A woman who looks to be in her 30's answers.

"You must be Amanda, come on in" she says "I'm Dani's mom, Karen"

"Hi" I smile

"She'll be down any minute" Karen tells me "but what do you have planned for the day?"

"I don't really have anything specific planned, it's mostly what she wants to do" I tell her "do you need her home at a specific time?"

"No, just not too late" she says

"Okay" I say

Dani walks downstairs, as soon as she sees me her face lights up.

"Hi" I giggle

"Hi" she says quietly

"Ready to go" I ask

She nods and tells her mom bye. She climbs in the passenger seat while I get Gracie back in her car seat then I get in the drivers seat.

"You okay?" I ask

"Yeah, just shocked, and nervous" she tells me

"Don't be nervous" I tell her "I won't bite"

"I'll try not to" she says "I just can't believe this is actually happening"

I have to laugh, she's so cute. I drive us to a little restaurant for a small brunch. We go in and get a seat, booth of course! I get a booster seat for Gracie although she's a little small for it.

"So why are you so shocked?" I ask

"I actually won" she says "and my parents didn't try to stop me"

"What do you mean?" I ask

"They typically don't let me go anywhere" she says

"Oh" I say. We order our food and hang out there for a while. I notice she eats her food slowly but I don't say anything.

"Hey want to feed Gracie?" I ask her

"Sure" she says

I hand Gracie over to her then hand her a bottle. She does great with feeding her so I let her do that while I run to the bathroom. When I get back it looks like she just finished burping her.

"Ready to go?" I ask

"Yep" she says "where too next?"

"Hmm how about a movie?" I suggest

"Sure" she says "but what about Gracie?"

"She'll be asleep for most of it" I tell her

"Oh okay" she says

We go to the movies and choose paper towns (idk if it's out yet but it is here). After getting snacks and popcorn we go get seats in the back of the theater. Partway through the movie she excuses herself and comes back 10 minutes later.
