While at work the other day I ran into this cute really cute guy named Devan. He's actually Collins keys brother. He was telling me about his twin 3 year olds Ryan and Raelynn and how their mom wanted nothing to do with them at 14. Personally I think he's doing great for a 17 year old with twins. He actually asked me out so tonight he and I are going out to eat. Maddie volunteered to watch the twins and Gracie for us. I offered to pay her but she refuses.
"Mad what should I wear?" I ask
"Black jeans with your red converse, one of your band tees and a plaid flannel" she says
"Black or white band tee?" I ask
"White" she says
"And a red flannel?" I ask
"Yep" she says
"How do you pick the perfect outfit without even seeing it?" I ask
"No idea" she says
I laugh and get myself dressed, I haven't decided what I'm doing with my hair yet but I'm sure Maddie's got that handled.
"Okay so do your makeup then we'll do your hair" she says
I decide on my regular makeup and do that real quick like, it's more of a natural look. As I finish that up she starts on my hair. She brushes it out completely then curls it.
"There, simple yet nice" she says
"Thanks mad" I say
"No problem" she says
There's a knock on the door so I grab Gracie and go get it. Devan and the twins are here.
"Hey come on in" I say
Devan comes in and the twins run off somewhere. Luckily Maddie had come down with me so she followed them.
"Sissy pretty" Tristan says as he runs in the room
"Thank you bubba" I laugh
"You didn't tell me Devan was your date" Demi says as she walks in
"Yes I did I just didn't say he was Collins's brother" I say
"Well you two have fun, have her back by 10" Demi says
"Will do" Devan says
I kiss Gracie bye then hand her over to Demi. Devan and I head out, to who knows where. We drive for at least a half an hour before we get to the restaurant, it's really nice.
"I wanted to bring you here because this is where my parents went on their first date" he tells me
"Aww" I smile "that's so sweet"
"Ready to go in?" He asks
"Yep" I say
We get out of the car and go in, a waiter immediately gives us a table. I order a tea and Devan orders a coke.
"They have a lot of good food here" I state
"They do" Devan agrees "I usually get a steak"
"I'll get fish" I say
"The fish is really good" Devan tells me
"I'd hope" I laugh
"What can I get you two?" Our waiter asks
"I'd like the steak and she'd like fish" Devan tells him
"Alright, it'll be done in about 20 minutes" he says
"Thank you" we say
"So how old is Gracie again?" Devan asks
"3 weeks old" I tell him
"Aww" he says "if you don't mind me asking, what happened to her dad?"
"He wasn't ready to be a dad and we fought" I say "but he's coming to his senses"
"Oh well that's good" Devan says
"Yeah, I wanted her to have both of her parents because I didn't but there's not much I can do" I say
"Yeah" Devan sighs "so Demi's your mom, which means you were adopted right?"
"Yep" I say "my Birth mom made a reappearance in my life and tried to take me back but I said no and eventually we made an agreement where she can be a part of my life but I live with Demi"
"I love how your family works things out" He says
"Thanks" I laugh
"Here you go" our waiter says and hands us our food
Once he walks away I try the fish and holy shit it's good.
"Like it?" Devan laughs
"It's so good" I say
"Told ya" he says
"Do the twins ever ask about their mom?" I ask
"Luckily no" Devan says "but I know they Will when They're older"
"It's pretty sad" I say
"It is" Devan agrees
"Well that was good" I say after taking my last bite
"I'll go pay then we'll head out" Devan says
"Alright" I say
Devan goes to pay while I gather my stuff up then we head out. The car ride home is silent, a comfortable silence. When we get back he walks me up to my door and looks at me.
"I had a great time tonight" he says
"I did too" I say
We look at each other and lean in. Our lips touch and there are immediate sparks. We pull away and stare at each other.
"That was incredible" I say
"It was" he says
He gets down on one knee and takes my hands.
"Amanda" he says "will you be my girlfriend?"
"Absolutely" I smile
He stands up and pulls me into a hug. We check the time and it's 10:00 exactly so we head inside.
"Perfect timing" Demi says as she walks in
"We got back a few minutes ago actually" I say "but he asked me out"
"He did huh?" Demi says
"Yes, he's incredible" I smile
"I hope that's okay" he says
"It is" Demi says "I appreciate you checking with me"
"Oh hey the twins are passed out on your bed Amanda" Maddie says
"Alright thanks" I say
"Why don't I go get them so you can go to sleep" Devan says
"I'll walk you up" I say
Devan and I go upstairs, he scooped up the twins and kisses me goodnight. Once he leaves I jump in the shower then head to bed.
