Maddies text

As I lay on my bed watching tv I get a text from Maddie.

Mad: Amanda please come get me I need to get out of here but I don't want demi yet

Of course it concerns me so I pack Gracie up and rush to Diannas. Maddie is sitting outside crying her eyes out when I get there.

"Maddie what's wrong?" I ask as I rush over to her

"Mom and dad are fighting it's bad and I'm scared" she tells me

"Do you know why?" I ask as I pull her into a hug

"No but I heard them talking about a divorce" she tells me

"Why don't you go ahead and get in the car I'll go in and see if I can talk to them" I say

"okay" she says

"Dianna, Eddie" I call out as I walk inside

"Oh hi Amanda" Dianna says

She looks stressed and drained, I can see the sadness in her eyes.

"Is everything okay?" I ask

"Why?" She asks

"Maddie texted me to come get her, she was sitting outside bawling" I explain

Dianna sighs and runs her hands through her hair.

"Why don't I take Maddie to stay the night so you and Eddie can talk this out or figure it out without having to worry about Madison" I suggest

"That would be nice" Dianna says "but I don't want you guys to stress"

"It's no big deal you know maddies always welcome" I say

"Alright go ahead then" she says

"Don't stress too much I don't know what's going on but you guys will work it out" I say

I go back out to the car and start the drive home.

"What did she say?" Maddie asks

"Not much" I tell her "it was mostly convincing her to let you stay the night"

"Oh" Maddie says

"Don't worry Maddie they'll work it out" I say

"I sure hope so" she says

Maddie gets Gracie then we go inside. Demi looks over then walks over to us.

"What's going on?" She asks

"Dianna and Eddie are fighting, she's terrified to be over there" I explain for her

"Come here mad" Demi says

Demi takes Maddie and they go somewhere else. I take Gracie upstairs to her room then call bailey, I haven't talked to her in a while.

B: hello
A: hey kiddo what's up
B: not much, just hanging out
A: want to come over? Maddie's here
B: I would but I'm grounded
A: what'd you do?
B: I was in a pissy mood the other day and dal was tired of my attitude
A: oh, is she home?
B: no she's at the store
A: oh okay well I'd better get going
B: alright I'll talk to you later

It's a bummer that Bailey's grounded Maddie would've loved having her over. One of these days I'll have them over again.

"Hey Amanda Demi wants to know if Bailey could come over" Maddie says as she walks in my room

"I was actually just on the phone with her, tell Demi if she can convince Dallas to unground her then she probably can" I tell her

"Oh okay" mad says

"Hey do you want to feed Gracie she should be getting hungry here soon" i ask

"Sure" Maddie says

"Alright go warm up a bottle I'll bring her downstairs in a sec" I tell her

She runs downstairs so I go get Gracie. By the time I get downstairs the bottle is ready. Maddie takes her so I go back up to my room. Demi comes in a minute later, probably to talk to me about Madison.

"Hey kid" she says

"Hi momma" I say

"Thanks for going to get Madison so quickly" Demi says

"It's no problem" I say

"I might have her move back in for a bit " she states

"It's that bad?" I ask

"I don't know many details but if she's terrified of being there it's better to have her stay here" Demi tells me

"Good point" I say

Demi goes back downstairs to make dinner, I go check on Maddie and Gracie. They're both passed out in the rocking chair. I take a picture and post it to Twitter.

I really hope everything works out between Dianna and Eddie. I would hate to see my mom lose another dad, and for Madison to have to deal with all of this.
