My birthday is coming up soon! I'll be 17 but I don't want to do anything special. Honestly I just want to spend time with my family and that's it.
"Amanda come here" Maddie yell
I run to Maddie's room thinking she's hurt.
"Yeah" I say
"What do you want for your birthday?" She asks
"Nothing" I tell her
"Oh come on" she says
"Seriously mads, I don't want anything" I say
Maddie rolls her eyes so I go back in my room. I get a text from Haley asking if we could hang out. I told her yeah but Maddie's coming.
"Mom Maddie and I are going out for a bit" I tell Demi
"Alright be back by 10" Demi says
I grab my keys and we head out.
"Can I bring Riley?" Maddie asks
"Not this time" I tell her
"Oh okay" Maddie says
"Sorry" I say
"It's fine" Maddie grumbles
I drive us to the mall and find a place to park. I see Maddie's still mad at me.
"Look I'm sorry Maddie but honestly I don't feel comfortable with driving with More then one other person in the car especially if they're not family" I explain
"Could she meet us here if she found a ride?" Maddie asks
"Yes" I say
"thanks" Maddie says
We walk inside and see Haley. I walk over to her and Maddie follows behind.
"Hey" I say
"Hey" Haley smiles
"Want to get lunch?" I ask
"Yeah let's go" Haley says
The three of us go in the food court and get pizza. I'm thinking Maddie feels awkward since she's not talking.
"Maddie speak up Haley won't bite" I say
"Sorry" Maddie says
"You're fine" I say
After lunch we head to top shop. we always go in there but it's our favorite store. After going to almost every store in the mall Haley has to hear home so she does and Riley heads home too.
"I don't want to go home yet" Maddie states
"Movie?" I ask
"Divergent!" Maddie says
"Alright let's go" I laugh
We head to the movie theater and get our tickets. Maddie gets our popcorn and we head in to watch the movie. Once it ends I check the time to see 11:30 and about 20 missed calls from Demi and even more texts.
"Shit Maddie we gotta go" I say
We run to the car and I quickly, but safely get us home. Demi's on the couch so we try to quietly go upstairs.
"Freeze" Demi says
Maddie and I stop in our tracks. We're both terrified of what's going to happen next.
"What time did I want you two home?" Demi asks sternly
"10" we whisper
"And what time is it now?" Demi asks
