21. Interrupting The Moment

My phone rang, again.

"It must be Samantha?" An annoyed Aiden asked.

I let out a small laugh, "Yeaah!"

"It's barely been an hour and she already called you twice."

"I guess I'll just switch off my mobile!"

"I'd be honoured!" He kissed my cheek.

He stopped by a dark and closed restaurant.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, perplexed.

"No!" He frowned. "We've reached our destination." He added with a smile.

"But it is closed."

"You ask too many questions Diana!" He slipped out of the car and he led me towards the entrance.

Along with bewilderment, I was super confused.

Why on Earth are we going into a closed restaurant?

The guard opened the door to let us in and closed it behind us. My heart beat caught on some pace.

"Okay, that isn't creepy at all!" I mumbled.

Aiden laughed, "Relax, I won't exploit you, if that's what your thinking."

"Then wh-" I gasped before I could complete what I wanted to say.

We entered the huge restaurant but it was completely empty. Just then a spotlight highlighted the only table in the otherwise dark restaurant. An oval table covered in a silky white cloth. The centre held a small vase with 3 roses. The silverware was neatly placed on the table.

He pulled out the seat for me and I graciously sat down. As soon as I did that, the whole room light up. The large mullioned windows were half covered by long embroidered curtains that were showered with rose petals. The area was grand, but only bore our table.

Far in one corner, a small orchestral group of 5 people bowed to us and started playing soft jazz and blues music.

"Did you?" I asked in utter astonishment.

"Yes, love. I'm in good terms with the owner of the place, so I asked him for a little favour." He winked and added, "I know you love Italian so I've already arranged for tonight's menu if you don't mind."

"I'm surprised you didn't take me to Italy!" I teased him.

"That can be arranged!" He winked.

He got up and walked towards me, "Can I have this dance, young lady?"

I grinned and let him lead me to the floor. I hooked my arms around his neck as he arms found my waist. Last time I was this close to someone in the dancefloor, it ended in me catching a flight to my home.

I closed my eyes and let myself enjoy the present moment. This is Aiden, not Seb! He's a friend and this is not a date.

This was our second date- our second friend date. For our first date, he flew us in his private jet to Florida for the night. We attended a wine-tasting session and then he took me to a private property where we had a BBQ dinner.

We had a spectacular time together and we came back rather late. I slept all way back to my place, and he like true gentleman scooped me up in his arms and carried me to my apartment.

Behind all his constant touches and little flirtatious talks, he never even tried to kiss me or touch me otherwise. I had clearly informed him that this was a strictly friend-date. I thought he'd laugh at me but he chimed in saying that he wasn't even thinking otherwise.
