You earned it

Lisa's pov

"Congratulations, Lisa, this little stunt you pulled just earned you a private meet and greet with my belt later this evening." Shane stood rigidly, his anger over this situation quite apparent by his contorted facial expressions.

"Shane, stop! You're so annoying." My cheeks flushed, due not only to embarrassment but also humiliation, having my friends hear Shane threaten to spank me.

"I'm annoying?" he questioned in a mocking tone, as he shook his head in disbelief. "Oh, that's rich, Lisa."

"Shane, please, you're embarrassing me," I hissed in a hushed tone, as I stood grabbing his elbow, trying to turn him away from my peers, whom could only be described at this point as eager onlookers enjoying the show playing out in front of them on the stage which doubles as a mall security office.

"No! You want to know what's embarrassing, Lisa?" Shane's voice rose in volume as he continued, without awaiting a response to his obviously rhetorical question. "BEING PULLED OUT OF AN IMPORTANT BUSINESS MEETING IN THE MIDDLE OF AN OVERSEAS CONFERENCE CALL WITH THE HEAD OF THE EUROPEAN SECURITY COUNCIL'S LIAISON AS YOUR BOSS LOOKS ON IN CONTEMPT BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO FETCH YOUR DELINQUENT DAUGHTER WHO'S BEEN DETAINED FOR SHOPLIFTING! THAT'S EMBARRASSING, LISA!" Shane's face was red with rage at this point as he was dangerously close to losing his temper and unleashing his frustrations without restraint.

I kept my back to my friends, way too ashamed to face them after being berated by Shane during his all too public tirade. Well, that and the fact that I didn't dare turn my back on my guardian when he was this furious, fearing reprise directed at my vulnerable unprotected backside. Plus, I knew Shane, just like Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman, was just gettin' warmed up so I braced myself to weather the rest of the storm.

"YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE WOULD BE EMBARRASSING, LISA?"

Sure enough the dark clouds started rolling in. Shane continued his rant with yet another rhetorical question so I bit my tongue to keep from unwisely mouthing off.

"IT WOULD BE EMBARRASSING IF I STRIPPED MY BELT THROUGH MY PANT LOOPS AND STARTED ADMINISTERING YOUR PUNISHMENT HERE AND NOW!"

It was time to take shelter now that the skies had unleashed and I was caught in the downpour. My eyes widened as I watched Shane unbuckle his belt and swiftly tear it from his waistband, exactly as he had just threatened to do during his tirade. He tightly clutched his belt, doubled over in his hand as he raised one eyebrow at me and scowled, just daring me to challenge his authority and ever waning patience in the moment.

I was so humiliated by his dramatics. Tears of frustration quickly threatened to spill as I stood thoroughly mortified and belittled in front of my friends.

"OH MY GOD! STOP! I HATE YOU, SHANE!" I screamed at him, as the thunder crashed across the gray skies. Quickly wiping my eyes, I ran past everyone out of the security office and into the mall, trying to escape further ridicule.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any luck seeking shelter from the storm so I just sat on the nearest bench I could find, buried my head in my hands and cried.

Shane didn't allow me much time to wallow in my misery before he roughly grabbed my arm, yanked me off the bench, and snapped, "COME WITH ME RIGHT NOW! WE'RE LEAVING."

I defiantly ripped my arm from his grasp, stood my ground, and glared at him through a blur of tears.

"DON'T FUCKIN' TOUCH ME!" I cursed loudly, drawing the eyes of some curious shoppers. "How could you do this to me?" I lowered my voice due to all the unwanted attention my outburst caused. I then made the mistake of looking directly at Shane. To say he was a tad livid would be like saying the Pope is a tad Catholic. I was thankful his belt was at least securely fastened around his waist now, instead of at the ready in his hand.
