The Soulful Poetess

46 4 6

Poised, mindful and calmly She wrote
For days-on-end, quote-after-quote
Eloquently scripted was each anecdote

Ahead of Her time
When time forbade
Such an act

Sexism and misogyny rife
In danger, in fear for Her life

Her words never credited
As noble or worthy

Never one who cared
to read Her elegant,
captivating stories

Yet retrieved thousands
of years after Her death

Her words received the
highest order of praise

Upon every scholar's breath....

..When it was with Her last breath
She penned Her final sonnet
and signed off in Her typical, poignant manner....

.."Anonymous".
