This book is not as simple as it seems. It is indeed the first part in a four part book series, but that series is the first in a larger anthology. In total the series will have twenty-seven books. For those who commit to the entire anthology, I promise that I will try to make it even more enjoyable to read than it was to write. Bear in mind that while I have thought out the major plot points, I am still working to write them down, while filling in small gaps along the way. You will see things in this book that won't reemerge for a longtime, so stay keen and trust in the details. In the beginning I had a myriad of ideas for individual stories with shared themes and elements, but after much thought I realized that these stories are strongest as small parts of a greater whole. Once this idea germinated, most of the plot fell perfectly into place and the rest, as they say, is history. I hope you will remain for the next twenty-seven books as I promise a tapestry of unusual twists, strong protagonists,intimidating villains, love, loss, and one thoroughly exciting and enjoyable journey.-Mary Ann Tesmacher
