How Else To Cope

From the moment I arise, from the restless compromise

Of dreamless barren black, decaying nightly lies

I find myself enthralled, with visions unresolved

Of a form that grants desire, from the mire thick and sprawled

She brings the clarity of purpose, warmth bleeding through my form

To hold together thoughts, and weather growing storms

I stumble in the dawn, caressing that gentle shape

Power to leave me breathless, on the ground with mouth agape

Pressing lips against her neck, I drink in that burning passion

The only solace to be found, in a world gray and ashen

Dizzy strides upon the earth, head spinning all the while

Those that look upon us, consider this sin to be reviled

Still we dance and sing and stumble, grasping life at fullest throttle

For those gazes are so distant, at the bottom of the bottle.
