Successful Woman

You make success seem so easy,

As carefree as could be,

With no effort in your stride,

You lead those boys on for a ride,

They dance upon your hand,

Jumping to your command,

With just a smile and a wink,

They buy you every drink,

But I see through the guise,

The honeysuckle lies,

The simple sweet veneer,

The only thing to hide your tears,

Approaching cool and calm,

I don't fall into your palm,

I don't leap to your command

Instead I offer you a hand,

Lift you to your feet,

And tell you something sweet,

Something a little crass,

Something with some sass,

Then I see it there,

A smile with no snare,

Genuine and true,

And so completely you,

It takes the air within my chest,

Despite my very best,

The soft whisper in my ear,

Makes our next move clear,

With her practiced charm,

She takes me by the arm,

Racing out the club,

With naught but stars above,

We head to a hotel,

ringing the little bell,

I don't remember what came next,

But I woke up quite perplexed,

And that is when it hit me,

That chick had gone and stole my kidney.
