We got into his car and I began driving.

"Play some music" I whined.

"Fine" he said.

He starting playing music and we started jamming out. It honestly felt so good to just let all of this go with somebody.

"We're here!" I exclaimed getting out of the car.

I had only really gotten to know Ash today, but I really felt like I could trust him.

"You took me to an ice cream parlor?" He chuckled.

"Trust me, my dad used to take me here all the time, it's really good"

We made our way in and got our ice cream.

When he automatically paid for the bill I didn't complain. I just thanked him gratefully.

"So I have a pepper to pick with you" he said making me burst out laughing.

"A pepper to pick? You're such a goofball" I laughed.

"Yes, a pepper to pick. And most people call me a goofy goober" he grinned.

"Okay then, what is this pepper about?"

He sighed, "Well I've heard a few rumors about you and Grayson, and I wanted to know what's true"

"I-It's um complicated" was all I said.

"You should talk to me, it could help"

He was right, I hadn't spoken to anybody about this, maybe I should let it out.

And so I explained everything from that night. All the details.

"Wow, I'm so sorry" he said.

"It's life I suppose" I shrugged.

"So Reece is still with Kelsey" I nodded.

"What. A. Dick." He muttered.

"Yea, he can be" I said.

"But tell me about you, what was this emergency about?"

"It's my mom..." he paused.

"She's has on and off cancer for awhile now. So I moved in with my aunt to calm her. And so here I am"

"Fuck. I'm so sorry"

"It's life I suppose" he used my phrase.

I showed him a small smile and he copied my actions.

"Oh, does your aunt have any kids that go to our school?" I asked curiously.

"Oh yea. And a bonus, you know him!"

"Wait what? Who?!"

"Go fuck a raccoon guy.."

"William!"

"You're joking" I started laughing.

"My ex is your cousin" I was wheezing at this point.

"Mmhn"

"Oh no. He told you about the raccoon thing" I face palmed.

"Not my proudest moment" I said.

After awhile of talking, and creating a legendary handshake we figured it was about time we get home.

When we reached my house I gave him a smile.

"Handshake?" I questioned.

We did our handshakes before laughing at ourselves.
