Sorry I didn't update for a while...amphibia and seven deadly sins just kinda took over after vacation....twelve forever might next.
Also bit of a challenge try listening to this song above, (fix you-cold play)
while reading this without crying...I can't do it and I wrote this down twice and re-wrote it to make it less depressing.
"Are you sure you can handle it Lotor? I mean I can come in there with you." Lance sighed looking at his friend. Lotor smiled weakly at Lance, holding Kuro's hand weakly. He had been his rock through all of this.
"Lance I'll be fine. It's just gonna hurt a bit. And if anything happens to me Kuro is going to look after you like he has for me." Lotor smiled tiredly looking like all bones. Kuro just gave a comforting grin. One that made Lance's heart hurt.
Ever since they got to earth four months ago, Lotor had been going under chemotherapy for his tumour. His mother's experiments had caused the quintessents in his blood to radiate a tiny part of the brain. This some how caused a tumour. Or at least that was Shiro's theory. Either way it still was there. And it made Lotor a sickly wreck as soon as the treatment began.
He could hardly keep a ear down. His skin began a saggy suit on his skin. Lord, he got awfully cold at nights, to the point where doctors were scared he would lose toes to hypothermia. Then his hair began to fall out. However tough it all Kuro remained at his side, taking care of him every step of the way. It was like they were attacked at the hip now a days. They were so connected even though they never had a full on conversation seeing as Kuro was selectively mute.
Being selectively mute meant he couldn't talk in specific situations. Or to specific people. The only ones who had ever heard him talk were other clones on the ship, according to data that the blade had given them. Yet, after they were killed, he stayed silent. Mainly out of fear that whoever her trusted would die again. Yet, despite this all he stayed by Lotor's side, showing affection he hadn't shown anyone else. Not even Shiro's twins, who he teared like they were small kittens.
However now, here they were, just waiting. Currently Lotor waiting for a risky surgery while Kuro clung onto him for dear life. He was like a scare puppy right now. Just watching it made Lance's heart hurt. Especially with the thought of Kuro losing Lotor. Just watching that would kill him.
"Oh trust me he doesn't have to worry, my husband can watch me just fine." Lance teased making Lotor give a tired laugh. Yet, soon he just looked up at Lance, tears in his eyes. Kuro just smiled nuzzling his hand to try and cheer Lotor up.
"Does...do you think it hurts?" Lotor asks slowly.
"No, getting it removed won't hurt. I mean if it did everyone would still be dying afterwards." Lance smiled trying to keep from breaking down, not noticing Kieth leaning against the door to the room.
"No, I mean...if I die on that table..is it gonna hurt as bad as the chemo? Or is it going to be worse do you think?" Lotor asks looking tearful. "I can't stand anymore pain at this point." He sniffled a bit only to feel Kuro cling onto his hand tighter.
"Oh Lotor,...I..I doesn't hurt." Lance spoke up trying not to cry.
"B-but what if it does? Lance I'm so scared that I'll feel a bad headache and then it'll get worse. Then I'll be floating around in the dark with my eyes closed forever. I hate the dark." Lotor explained almost bursting out into tears. Lance sat there trying not to cry as he searched in his head for an answer.
"If you die you're not staying in pitch black area." Keith spoke ups slaking into the room. Lotor sniffled rubbing his eyes, trying to stop crying. Meanwhile Keith just sat near his husband and holding his hand for support.
"Lotor when you die, you gotta believe there's no pain. I know when my dad died, he was in a lot of pain. He was in a car crash with me and I was in the room with him when he died. Lotor when you die, for a single moment the pain will go away. You'll take a deep breath as your heart stops. Then you have just a few more moments to take in a breath and thinking of the good times...for dad he just told me how proud he was before he left. If you die, you'll have a second before you go...and in that second, think of the good times. And I personally believe you will relive them for as long as time continues no matter what." Keith smiled trying to make him calm down.
"L-lets hope I have good ones to relive." Lotor joked, tears still rolling down his cheeks.
"Relax, you'll be fine Lotor. And when you're done with this, Lance's mom is letting you stay at her place for a long time...just picture it. You'll learn to clean and cook. And you'll learn how to raise a family. You will never have to go to war again...for once you can just rest..doesn't that sound great?" Keith smiled. Lotor nodded still crying as a nurse walked in.
"Lotor, the doctor's ready for you...are you ready to go?"she asks slowly, trying not to interrupt. Lotor sniffled nodding a bit seeming a little bit scared still. Slowly she dug out a mask to knock him out while Lance hugged him close crying as he told him to wake up soon.
She soon slid the mask over his face as his other friends came in. The ones Lotor could have sworn wouldn't make it to see him at all. Before Lotor knew it everyone in volition was hugging him and wishing him luck. All he could do was smile as he tears dup and cried know everyone's shoulders.
"Okay, I'll slide this one. You have to count to three and then you'll be asleep, no worries. Then when you wake up it'll all be okay no matter what." She smiled. Lotor nodded still shaking in fear.
"You ready?" She asks. He nodded.
"As I'll ever be." He smiled shaking still. So slowly she slid the mask over his face. He smiled as Kuro nuzzled his forehead and held his hand to try and calm him down. He just cried as he petted Kuro's head like a big cat with one hand while the other rested in front of him which was he held by Lance. Shiro slowly rested a hand on his shoulder with a smile.
"Everything will be fine..now just count you big dork." Shiro teased making Lotor grin before the gas was administered. As soon as it was he began to count.
"1"
By that point Lance was crying almost as much as Lotor. He was more of a nervous wreck than Lotor. Keith meanwhile just sighed giving a comforting smile.
"2"
Pidge was smiling sadly trying not to break down while Hunk just smiled trying to keep everyone calm...well at least Lotor was assuming it was trying to be a smile. Within seconds he was crying as he tried to smile again but, finales miserably.
"3" was all Lotor thought as Kuro kissed his forehead.
And just like that Lotor got a happy memory to live in forever.

Kuro froze looking down at the surgery room. The only other people in the room were Keith and Shiro. They somehow had gotten a good expensive room with a window so you could watch a surgery. After all it was the 7th ever surgery of this kind on a alien since earth found out they existed.
So as you could guess it was a big thing and being recorded. Kuro was fine with that. He was fine with watching the surgery. After all he was fine with blood and guts. In fact Kuro was okay with a lot of things but, he wasn't fine with this.
Beeeepppp
The loud beeping noise made his ear ache but, he knew what it meant. Lance had to explain it to them both five times before this. He explained how it meant the heart stopped. How it meant death.
And now he was watching as Lotor beeped and weird pads were being pressed down in his chest as the beeping got louder.
"Clear!"
Beeep
He watched as Lotor laid there motionlessly. He just stood there blood running cold as he watched them do it again. And again. And again. The beeping just got louder as he watched them move. Yet, all his mind could think of was him.
"Clear!"
Beeeeeppp.
"They..they're gonna revive him! They gotta revive him!" Keith blurted out. He stood up starting to tear up. Shiro walked over and just rubbed his shoulder while tearing up. Kuro just stood there completely froze.
"Clear!"
"Sir uts almost been two minutes! If he doesn't wake up soon we have to give up!"
"I know just let me try again! Clear!"
Beeeeeeeepp beeeeppp.
Kuro stood there silently. His heart ached as his blood ran colder by the second. His mind started racing wondering what was going to happen now. What was going to happen to him? What was going to happen to Lotor?
His mind raced but, he could only say one last thing as he watched them use the shock paddles one last time.
"L-Lotor."
