"At ease!" Your superior shouted as the other cadets, which were mostly guys, placed their hands at the back. You placed your hands at the back too as your superior passed down the rows of cadets.

You were in the military for almost two months now.

You joined the navy missions to search for him while doing the mission, but still no sight of him.

You trained hard everyday. You don't smile anymore. You never made friends with the other cadets or with anyone at all. You still wrote letters to your parents, but the replies were mostly about coming back home.

"Cadet (last name)!" Your superior called out.

You saluted and replied, "ja!" (P: Is it still 'ja' if they answer their superior?)

"General Beilschmidt would like to have a word with you." He said.

'Gilbert found out about the letters I guess...' You thought.

"Dismissed!" You saluted again and went towards the map room where he would be always found in.

It was a short walk towards the map room.

You knocked on the door and you heard a familiar voice from the inside.

"Come in (Y/n)..." You opened the door to see Gilbert. He was the cocky brother of Ludwig.

"You wanted to see me sir." Gilbert cracked up a small smirk.

"Every time you'd sound serious since you came here you sound like him." He chuckled a bit, but fadded quickly, "we found some remains of his uniform when the navy was patrolling the sea." He tossed you a small object. You caught the familiar object. You looked at him eye to eye, "open it frau."

You did as he said. Inside your hands was a familiar gold pin you remembered from your childhood.

You went to Italy with your family and his while you were visiting some cousins of yours.

Flashback

"Luddy!" You ran towards your best friend with a small gift in your hands.

"What is it (Y/n)?" He asked.

You showed him a gold pin with an engrave of the Stylized Lily, the national flower of Italy, and the Cyani Flower, the national Flower of Germany.

"I want you to keep this." You pinned it on the collar of his shirt, "promise me that."You held out your pinky.

He blushed as he wrapped his pinky around yours.

"Promise."

Flashback End

You fell on the ground clutching on the pin.

The last thing that you heard before you blacked out was Gilbert's voice calling out your name.

Later on you woke up in the infirmary where the nurses and doctors rushed around with medicines, bandages and other medical stuff rushing to aid wounded soldiers.

You opened your palm to reveal you still holding the pin.

You started to tear-up.

"Luddy..." You held the pin closer to your chest as you cried your heart out.

"(Y/n)..." You saw Gilbert and his Hungarian wife, also your best friend, Elizaveta looking at you with sadness.

That day was the first time you showed your soft side ever since the day you left your village.

"Attention!" Gilbert shouted as the other cadets and I saluted as he walked around.

"You all will be under navy patrol tonight and that means some of you might be reaching Denmark's coastal area." Gilbert stopped at the last cadet, "are we clear!"

"Yes sir!"

"Move to your boats now, dismissed!" We all started to run outside.

"Cadet (Last name)." I stopped in front of him and salute as the others passed by me.

"This is the last place we haven't checked yet, I'm placing with you with Elizaveta and I's patrol boat are we clear?"

"Clear!"

"Dismissed."

Some time later....

You have been surveying the coast for eight hours now.

'Damn it Ludwig, where are you?' You said in your thoughts as you took of your night vision binoculars.

From a distance as one of the lights shone, you saw a tint of blonde from a distance.

"Ludwig!" You screamed. Gilbert shouted for you to stop, but you were already in the water.

You swam towards the the tint of blonde no matter how big the waves were.

You neared the blonde.

It was a man clinging on a metal debris.

You turned the man over to see his face.

"L-Ludwig?" It was him after months of searching.

"Luddy..." You started to cry as you hugged him.

"(Y-Y/n)?" He wiped your tears mixed with the salt water away as you cried.

"We thought you were gone Luddy! We thought you were gone!" You held him closer to you.

"It's okay (Y/n) I'm here now."

After the war was done in the result of the Axis losing to the Allies.

You and Ludwig lived peacefully in your village and that war was done almost seven years ago.

"Vati vati!" Your son called out for his father.

"Ja?" Ludwig carried his son on his lap.

"Was vati strong during the war?"

"Ja." You smiled.

"So was your muttin." You blushed.

"Really? Was Uncle Gilbert and Aunt Liz too?" You both nodded as the boy went down from his father's lap went to the kids in the street.

"Well he's off telling the world that his parents were both soldiers.

"Ja." You faced him as you kissed him.

"Vati! Muttin!" You broke away as your son made faces at you both for kissing.

You both laughed as you three had a good life together.

Finally done! And I am still lacking of creativity for a reason today! Oh well...
