"Congrats, pare! MVP na naman!"
"Four times MVP, straight! Idol!"
"Pa-share naman ng talent diyan!"
Isa mahinang halakhak ang pinakawalan ko habang naiiling na tinungo ang locker room. We just won the basketball tournament in our school's sports festival, and as what they've said, I'm the MVP again.
"Victory party mamaya, Peter! Punta ka, ha?" coach invited.
Sinukbit ko na ang bag ko at tipid na ngumisi kay coach. "Pass ako, coach. Pupuntahan ko kasi girlfriend ko, e."
My teammates growled then started convincing me to attend the party.
"Come on, Peter! Araw araw ka naman pumupunta sa kaniya, e! Maintindihan naman n'on kung hindi ka dadalaw or male-late ng dating!" convinced by one of my teammates.
I smiled then shook my head. "Sorry, bro." Tapos ay naglakad na ako palabas.
Habang nasa daan ay maraming bumabati. Kinakawayan ko lang sila at nginingitian. I can't wait to see Leicel!
"Hey, Peter, wait up!"
Huminto ako ng lakad at nilingon ang babaeng tumawag sa 'kin. It was Kisses, a cheerleader, who's currently running towards me.
"Yes, Kisses? Is it important? Sorry, I'm in a hurry." Then I awkwardly smiled as I scratch my nape.
Kisses smiled sweetly then gave me a soft hug. Sa sobrang gulat ko ay hindi ako nakagalaw. Loud 'yieeees' and other comments about us filled the gymnasium kaya bahagya kong naitulak si Kisses.
"C-Congratulations, Peter," namumulang aniya. Bahagya kong ginulo ang buhok niya at nagpasalamat bago tuluyang umalis.
I know that most of them in the gymnasium, or even in the campus, ship me with Kisses. Some assumed that we're already together while the others know that I already have a girlfriend.
Imbis na pumunta sa mall, park, or restaurants kung saan madalas pumunta ang mga in a relationship, I went to the hospital owned by my family.
May iilang nurse na nakakilala sa 'kin at binabati ako kaya gumaganti rin ako ng bati pero para maiwasan ay binilisan ko ang lakad.
Dahan dahan ay pinihit ko ang doorknob para sana surpresahin si Leicel pero imbis na siya ang magulat ay ako ang nagulat.
"Shit, Leicel, why are you crying?" nag-aalalang wika ko tapos ay malalaki ang hakbang na tinungo siya sa kama.
She was there, sitting on her bed, holding a book as she wipes her tears away.
I put her between my arms then kissed her forehead, just like what I always do whenever I see her. "Are you alright, baby?" mahinang tanong ko.
My heart is beating so fast that I think it will explode anytime soon. Seeing Leicel cry makes me weak. My system is in chaos and I don't know what to do!
"Y-Yes, silly. I was just reading a book." Tapos ay mahina siyang humalakhak habang ginugulo ang buhok ko.
Hearing her laugh gives me energy, it makes me feel alive and it removes all the worries in me. "Baby, you scared the hell out of me," bulong ko sa tenga niya habang ang noo ko ay nakasandal sa gilid ng ulo niya.
"Aww, I'm sorry for scaring my baby..." she replied sweetly then kissed my head. "How was the game? I'm sure you and your team won again..."
"Well, we won because of you." Then I left her bed to slice some apples for us.
