Chapter 13

6 Months Later
Julia's POV

I took Rosemary's advice 6 months ago to see a marriage counselor but Gregory refused to come with me

Flashback
I walked into the office of Mrs.  Amelia Davis, the counselor Rosemary recommended.

I was a little upset....nope, very upset by her secretary. Who am I kidding, I'm upset because Gregory refused to come with me.

He should be fighting for this marriage with, this is our home on the line.

I mean, think of it, he's legally married to me, he has a child with me and even though he's engaged to Celine, he can't marry her as long as he's still married to me.

Why doesn't he want this as much as I do? Has he stopped loving me?

I walked into the office without so much as a knock, yup, I was that upset.
"Woah, slow down" the woman who I believe to be Mrs. Davis said, definitely caught off guard

"And a good morning to you to" I said pretending to be offended

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Jacobs I was a little surprised" she apologized then proceeded to get up and around her table "I'm Mrs. Davis but I think I'd prefer you call me Amelia"

"Okay, Amelia then please call me Julia"

"So, Julia, I'm just curious " she started leading me to a white couch in the corner of her office "why didn't... " she continued but I cut her off

"Amelia, please don't ask why my husband isn't here " I pleaded "I'll tell you all about it anyway just don't ask"

"Okay, my question was actually why Rosemary didn't handle your case"

"Well, Rosemary is my best friend and a very good friend of Gregory's so she thinks she can't counsel us because she knows too much personal details " I explained and she hummed in reply

I spent about an hour explaining my situation with Gregory, my situation with Celine and basically every detail related to them

"Julia, why are you doing this? " she asked making me confused immediately

"Doing what? "

"Why are you hiding the fact that you know about Celine, why are you hiding it from your husband? "

"Well, because I think if I pretend not to know about it he will......." I trailed off

She gave me a knowing look before speaking again

"Why are you pretending to be a friend of your rival? "

"Well, I want to know everything, what she does with Gregory, what Gregory sees in her and....and what makes Gregory happier with her than me"

"Then what? " she asked confusing me all over again

"What? "

"What do you do with all that information? "

"Well.... " I trailed off not knowing what to say

"What exactly do you want Julia? "

"I want my husband back "I said with confidence

"Think about it, when your husband comes back to you will you be able to forget his involvement with Celine? " she asked and I could not reply, I was at a loss of words. After a few minutes she continued

"Will you accept him back wholeheartedly?"

"I have another appointment right now but I'd like to see you again, preferably with Mr. Jacobs, make an appointment with Felicia on your way out" she said making a move to stand up

"Wait" I said stopping her "the appointment is supposed to last 2 hours"

I was surprised when she started laughing "its been 3 hours Julia"

"What?! "

"Yes, Julia, on a very serious note, think about what I asked, think about what you want, okay? "

I nodded and bid her good bye

I made another appointment but not before apologizing to Felicia

I was upset with Gregory and I took it out on her
End of Flashback

Of course, Gregory never went with me on my appointments with Amelia

But I realized what I wanted and it wasn't Gregory

I didn't want Gregory back

I didn't even want my home back, I wanted a better one

He will always be Chantal's dad but I can't live with him knowing all about Celine

I will never be happy with that

I plan to tell Celine the truth and stop her from making a mistake

And if she  still wants to marry Gregory when she learns the truth, I'll get a divorce and be happy for her

She has been such a good friend and she deserves all the happiness life can give
