Alex's pov
"Alright now I want to change the topic to something a bit more personal" the interviewer says and I lick my lips.
"Okay. Shoot" I say smiling
"Y/n L/n..." I smile and feel myself blush instantly when I hear her name
"Everyone says that you two are the cutest couple, how did you two meet?" He asks and I laugh a bit thinking back to how Y/n and I met
"Well I fell for her, I literally fell on top of her" I start then go into the story of how I met Y/n.
3 years ago
I'm currently at a vegan ice cream shop with Kelley and Allie. I ordered a big thing of chocolate ice cream in a cup and I pay for it. I go to turn around but I trip on Kelley's foot causing me to go crashing down but not after colliding into someone else taking them down with me. I hear them groan as I push myself up, I see that my chocolate ice cream is all over both our shirts. The girl opens her eyes and look at a me.
"Um would you mind getting off of me?" She asks and I blush as I realize that I'm still on top of her with our faces being inches apart. I scramble off her and offered her my hand which she took and I pulled her to her feet.
"Uh I'm sorry about your shirt, can I give you the money to buy you a new one?" I rasp out and she smiles waving it off.
"No, you're totally fine don't worry about it. Can I get another order of the ice cream she just had please?" The girl asks and hands the man her card.
"I- you didn't have to do that" I stuttered out as the man handed me another chocolate ice cream.
"I'm Y/n L/n nice to meet you" She says sticking her hand out
"I'm Alex Morgan" I say shaking her hand.
"Oh I know I've practically seen you naked" she smirks causing me to blush
"Oh um-"
"Ya know from the sports illustrated magazine" she laughs and I hear Kelley and Allie laugh too. I honestly forgot they were here.
"Well anyways it was nice meeting you Alex" she says and turns to leave but I grab her arm.
"I know this probably sounds weird but could I have your number" I ask blushing a bit causing her to chuckle
"Sure Morgan" she smirks
Present day
"Wait wait she actually said that to you that's hilarious" he laughs and I chuckle
"Yeah she did I'm glad I asked her for her number because now we've been going strong for 3 and a half years" I smile
"Well I'm happy for you and good luck in the World Cup final against the Netherlands tomorrow" he says and I thank him getting up and walking to the car where I'm driven back to the hotel. Where we have one last team meeting going over the game plan for tomorrow's final.
The day of the final
Y/n's pov
"Hey babe....yeah....yes I'll be front row cheering you on....good luck today....alright....I love you too babe" I say ending the phone call with Alex. I grab everything and make my way to the stadium where I take my seat with the other family members and love ones of the other members of the team. We watch as the game goes back and forth for the first half and when it comes to the second half I feel my heart stop for a second as I see Alex go down inside the box from a high boot. She gets up and I breath a sigh of relief as Pinoe steps up to take the pk. She puts it away causing the stadium to erupt in cheers. A few minutes later Rose scores and we celebrate once again. The ref blows the whistle calling the match and we all celebrate and watch the team lift the trophy and get individual awards. The girls come over to our section and stand in some boxes so they can be eye level with us. I grin when I see Alex running over I give her a kiss and big hug.
"You did it baby! I'm so proud of you and the girls" I say giving her another kiss
"I couldn't have done it without all the support you and the girls gave me. I love you Y/n"
"I love you too Alex" I smile. They go to The locker room and we leave to get ready for the celebration party tonight but I go to the store and buy a few things then go to set them up. We get to the party and I find Alex giving her a hug from behind.
"Hey babe" she smiles
"Hey nice dancing I didn't know you could twerk like that" I smirk and she hides her head in my neck I could tell she was blushing and I laugh.
"You saw that?" She asks looking up, I peck her lips.
"Yeah it was hot, Ash was a nice media person for us today her story is hilarious. I'm happy you guys had fun in the locker room earlier" I laugh we spend most of the night at the bar with the others until I find a chance for us to slip off without anybody noticing. I get us in the car and start driving to my little surprise I had set up earlier.
"Where are we going?" She asks
"Just trust me" I say parking the car. I lead us up to the top of the building and I hear her gasp as she sees what I set up for her. I set up blankets pillows a speaker and I put some snacks and wine up here too.
"You did all this for me?" She smiles
"I'd do anything for you, I love you Alex" I say giving her a kiss. I lead her to the blankets and we sit down and I pour us some wine as I put on some soft music.
"And you can see the Eiffel Tower it's so pretty, Y/n you really didn't have to do all this"
"But I did because you're very special to me Alex and you deserve the world" I smile
"Hey look the tower is lighting up" I say which draws her attention to the tower and away from me. I reach into my pocket and grab the small box and roll over onto one knee. The lights on the tower stop sparkling and she turns back to me and gasps putting a hand over her mouth and I smile.
"Alexandra Patricia Morgan, I have been in love with you since the second you literally fell on me. You have this way of lightning up the whole room with your personality and I love it. I also love how much of a dork you are it's incredibly cute. You make me happier than I ever thought I could be and if you let me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way. Alex will you marry me?" I smile and she nods rapidly and says yes then jumps into my arms. I slip the ring onto her finger and kiss her one more time and lay back on the blankets and she lays on my chest.
"I love you Y/n"
"I love you too Alex, and I always will"
