Chapter 8. Lake 0

Start from the beginning

Blare, Eve, and Pidgeot walk the area, around the lake, and clear wild Pokemon away for the time being.

The nine Eevees watch from a distance, under some bushes, as Steelix passes with downed trees in its mouth.

"Machamp and Venuasaur, start cutting up those trees." David orders. "Dugtrio and Tyranitar, start digging out the lake, make it deeper and wider this time. Steelix and Tentacruel, continue bringing trees to Machamp and Venuasaur."

"Heracross, help Machamp and Venuasaur. Snorlax and Rhydon, help Dugtior and Tyranitar. Chaz and Gyarados, help Steelix and Tentacruel." Kyla orders as she turns to David. "What is your plan for the trees?"

"We will build shelters for the wild Pokemon and passers-through." David responds.

"Is there nothing you can't do?" Kyla asks, surprised.

"I can't cook for shit." David laughs.

Once all the trees are in a neat pile, Steelix, Tentacruel, Chaz, and Gyarados assist the others with fixing the actual lake. They dig out the banks and move stones to line the sides. The trees are cut into planks and David and his Pokemon begin putting them together as shelters. After the lake is done being dug out, Steelix acts as a ladder for the others to get out and David recalls him to his Pokeball.

"Okay, everyone is out of the lake, time to fill it." David says to Kyla.

"Tentacruel and Gyarados use Hydro Pump to fill the lake." Kyla orders.

Tentacruel and Gyarados work together and fill the lake quickly.

David and his Pokemon finish the shelters just as the sun begins to set.

"This looks amazing!" Blare exclaims as she returns.

"It really does. GOOD JOB EVERYONE!" Kyla shouts.

The Pokemon roar in celebration. The nine Eevees run and jump around, examining their new home. Eve joins them as they play together.

"Looks like we made some friends." David says as Venuasaur drags a large container into the area.

"What is that?" Kyla asks.

"A gift for our new wild friends." David says, opening the container to revile tons of Pokemon food. He turns and hands the key to Blare. "It is your responsibility to set this out every day, if you run out, just let me know."

Blare takes the key. "How did you afford all this?"

"I was a Pokemon Trainer before I was a Doctor, so I saved up a lot of money." David smiles.

They use the remaining lumber to build some feeding areas, and fill them with food. David sets out some signs that read "Pokemon preservation area, no capturing or battling allowed."

"I had Jenny approve the area as a no capture zone, so our new friends could have a safe place to stay." David hammers the signs into the ground.

The sky turns a bright red as the sun finally sets on the day. Kyla, David, and Blare wave to the Eevees as they leave. The Eevees respond with howls of happiness, wagging their tails.

Back in town, Kyla, Blare, and Ivory exchange Pokeballs back to their owners. Blare pulls out one additional Pokeball.

"What do you have there?" Ivory asks.

"I was able to capture a Pokemon while the others were working. He wanted to battle instead of leave for safety, so I just decided to make him part of my team." Blare smiles.

"What did you get?" Kyla asks.

"A Scyther. If you had not loaned me Pidegot, I think we would have had a rougher time." Blare says proudly.
