Black Kiss Of An Angelic Devil

Start from the beginning

Marcus leaded us into the huge library at the west wing of the castle. My family and I took our separate seats. Rosalie with Emmet. Alice with Jasper. Carlisle with Esme. Then me, sitting by myself in a arm chair next to a pile of worn books. Marcus looked at me and smiled slightly.
"Bella usually sits there when she is reading. Those books piled next to it are those she never reads but keep close to her. It's strange really." He said and waved a hand at my direction.
I look at the books and pick up the first one. The brown cover was torn and looked like it suffered a hell of a lot. I could barely make out the name of the book on the top. Wuthering Heights. My eyes filled with the tears I would never be able to shed. Bella's favourite. I was snapped out of my pain (only slightly) when Marcus began to speak.
He was seated on one of the high back chairs that were placed on a dais. There were four placed in such a fashion to show the rank. Caius and Marcus at the back as the most subtle gifts. Aro and Bella in front with the most powerful powers. I couldn't believe that Bella was a leader of the Volturi. I could never imagine her killing or maiming. But she seemed to have change way too much for me to even think of her as an angel any longer.
"Bella has been like this from her vampire birth," I focused all my attention on Marcus as he begun the tail of Bella's sickness," We found her in the woods, killing an army singlehandedly that would have been tough work for all of the guard together. Yet she had slaughtered and killed them all within a few minutes. We knew she was gifted so we asked for her to come with us. She was still newborn so we helped her become a civilised vampire, not that she really needed help. But she was a little strange. She would never listen to the piano but would play it. She never asked much of anyone but everyone wanted to give her anything she could possibly want. That's when we realised that perhaps her past had something to do with it. When we first asked she was very evasive about the subject and didn't say much but we wore her down over the months and she finally told us. It took us three leaders and a tremendous amount of Bella's vast powers to keep the guard, and well us, to just run out of Voltera and hunt you down. We hated you with all the fury we could muster. Especially you Edward." I sunk my head. He was right to find me at blame. "But Bella told us not to. She begged us to spare you. And none of us could refuse her. She was our princess. At that point we were almost to agreement to not kill you, but then suddenly something strange happened. Bella started to shake and throw up. We instantly tried everything we could to help her. But nothing we did helped. If we didn't hate your coven so much, me would have went to ask your help Carlisle. But Bella was very sick. She repeatedly threw up blood and blacked out. After 2 weeks she finally resurfaced and we got the chance to talk to her and ask her why. She told us that when she died, blood had leaked over the main organs of her body and the venom was unable to reach them as they only moved within the veins. So, Bella told us, the blood would not be the type for her to feed on. Meaning that the effects it had on her body was disastrous. She reassured us that she was perfectly fine. She wanted to study for a medical grade so that she would be able to remove the blood. We begged her to at least try see other vampire doctors but there was only one. She refused, saying she would rather die than ask your help. You can't really blame her tough. The sickness only happened once in a while so there was no real need of panic. After a while we started to find methods to ease her pain and awaken her quicker. Like that bleeding we did. It removes the blood from under the skin as to not make any marks on her. She's tough. She never stopped fighting against the pain or weakness. But we know that she can't fight forever. It's taking life from her. It makes her hungrier, edgier, and more potent to kill. It's not like she can't control herself on a daily basis, it's just that the sickness is winning." Marcus finished off with a glum look in his eyes. He loved Bella. Strangely this didn't make me mad, it made me feel grateful. They were taking care of her while she was ill. She's not just another toy for them.
"Will Bella allow us to help her now?" Carlisle asked, shooting a quizzical look at me. We both had medical degrees. I nodded at him. I wanted to help Bella. I would not let her die.
Carlisle looked to Marcus but before he could ask him if we were aloud, the door to the library opened.
"Absolutely not!" We turned to see Bella standing in the door. She looked as beautiful as ever. She was wearing a blood red dress. It had a halter top that curved around her smooth neck and then plunged into a deep V at the front. As she strode foreword I realised that the back of the dress was almost nonexistent. The back was bare to the hips were the red continued into a beautiful trail. Her black hair was swooping over her should and her now blood red eyes seemed to stare darts at those who looked too long. With a coy move she flipped a piece of dark hair out of her smoked out eyes with long red fingernails. She looked like the bride of the Devil. But she was still beautiful. Her wine red lips parted to blow Marcus a kiss. He smiled and motioned her over. She complied, gently seating herself on his lap. I growled. Why couldn't she sit in her throne?
