Part 30 - Hard Work Happening In The Lab and a Singing Duet

In Space, Inside The Spaceship
In The Lab
Simon and Jeanette had just got back to the Lab and were walking towards the table in the middle of the room
Once they got to the table, Jeanette put the two cups of coffee down and saw some kind of blaster sitting on the table
She looked at Simon and asked  "Is that blaster what we are going to use to travel to another dimension?"
"Yeah that's right, it works but I just want to work with Towelie to make sure the portal is safe for us to use" replied Simon
"Oh yeah, I remember you saying that" said Jeanette
"So once you and Towelie have tested the portal and got some results back, hopefully good news that we can use the portal, how long will it be till we go to the new dimension?" Asked Jeanette
"I'm not sure, maybe a few hours...why?" Asked Simon
"Well I was thinking we could watch a movie together or each of us make a science quiz and test each other" replied Jeanette with a giggle
"Yeah, that does sound quite fun actually. We haven't done many activities like that together while we have been in Space" admitted Simon
"I will try and find some time for us to be together" added Simon
"Aw thanks Simon, that's really cute and kind of you" said Jeanette with a smile
Just then, the Lab door opened and Towelie entered
"Hey Simon, I put the Spaceship on auto pilot so it will keep flying unless something comes close to the ship and an alarm will go off" explained Towelie
Towelie then looked up and saw Jeanette in the Lab too
"Oh hi Jeanette is it?" Asked Towelie
"Yeah that's right" replied Jeanette
"I didn't see you there, how are you doing? Have you come to see what me and Simon have made?" Asked Towelie
"Yeah, I hope you two can get some good results back and we can use the portal to go to another dimension" called Jeanette
Towelie then looked over at Simon
"I thought you said you wasn't going to tell your siblings about this device yet? Until we knew it would definitely work?" Said Towelie
"Well I couldn't keep it secret from Jeanette any longer, I just had to tell her about this amazing news. I haven't told the others thought and Jeanette won't tell anyone else" explained Simon
Towelie let out a sigh of disappointment
He then got onto a stool and grabbed hold of the blaster
After aiming it at the wall, he turned a switch and pulled a trigger on the device
A blast of purple light came out of the blaster and a portal appeared
"Wow, that's awesome! You wasn't kidding me Simon!" Called Jeanette in a surprised voice
"Since when have I ever lied to you" joked Simon
"Ok, Simon pick up the scanner and point it at the portal. Then some results should appear on the laptop" explained Towelie
Simon picked up the scanner and did as Towelie said
Jeanette wanted to help out too and made her way towards the laptop
"Simon, keep doing what your doing. Some numbered results are coming up" said Jeanette
After a few more seconds, Towelie turned off the blaster and looked over at Simon
"That should be enough readings now, thanks Simon" called Towelie
Towelie then looked over at Jeanette and said "Thank you too Jeanette"
"No problem, we are always here to help" replied Jeanette
Towelie then made his way over to Jeanette and looked at the results on the laptop
"Well how are they looking?" Asked Simon
"Will we be able to use the portal?" Asked Jeanette
"From these readings, I can gladly tell you both that the portal will be safe to use and you, and your siblings, will be able to travel to another dimension safely" replied Towelie
Simon and Jeanette cheered and gave each other a hug
"I can't believe we did it!" Admitted Simon in a surprised voice
"Me neither, this is amazing news! I can't wait to tell the others" said Jeanette in an excited voice
"Why don't you go and tell the others now? I'm sure they will be just as happy and excited as we are about this" suggested Simon
Jeanette nodded and giggled at Simon
"I will go and tell them now, be back soon" said Jeanette before making her way to the Lab door
Jeanette opened the door open and quickly dashed out of the Lab
In The Games Room
Theodore and Eleanor had just turned the game off they were playing together and were now sat talking on the sofa
"That was quite a lot of fun Eleanor, can we do that again another time?" Asked Theodore
"Yeah sure we can. I always enjoy playing on games with you Theodore and your company" replied Eleanor with a giggle
"Aw thanks Eleanor. Can we get some cake from the kitchen? Or a few bags of crisps? I'm hungry" asked Theodore
"Tell you what, since your hungry I will go and make you something a bit more healthy instead of cake or crisps. Does that sound OK with you?" Asked Eleanor
"Yeah that sounds cool, you always make nice things Eleanor" replied Theodore
Eleanor let out another giggle before getting off the sofa
"I will be back in a few minutes" called Eleanor before leaving the room
After a minute or so, the door opened
"Wow! That was quick Eleanor" said Theodore in a surprised voice
Theodore turned around and saw Alvin and Brittany walk into the room
"Oh hi you two, I thought it was Eleanor coming back in here" explained Theodore
"No just me and Brittany" said Alvin with a smile
Alvin and Brittany sat on the sofa too and Brittany spoke up
"Where has Eleanor gone now?" Asked Brittany
"Just to make something for us to eat. She won't be long" replied Theodore
"Oh that's OK, we will wait for her to come back then" said Brittany
"Why what's happened? Has Eleanor done something wrong?" Asked Theodore in a confused voice
"No bro, nothing bad has happened. Me and Brittany are going to sing a couple of songs for everyone and we will start once Eleanor comes back" replied Alvin
"Have Simon and Jeanette been in here with you two?" Asked Brittany
"Jeanette was in here but she left with Simon to go somewhere. They didn't say where though...probably the Lab to work on something..." Replied Theodore
"Your probably right, that's where them two get off too when we can't find them" joked Alvin
Just then, the door opened and Eleanor came in holding two plates with cheese sandwiches on them
"Hey sister, hi Alvin" called Eleanor on her way back to Theodore
"Hi how are you?" asked Brittany
Eleanor sat on the sofa and passed Theodore one of the plates which had cheese sandwiches on
"I'm fine thanks. How about you and Alvin?" Eleanor asked back
"We are fine, the magic show wasn't very good..." Started Brittany
"It was creepy and weird if anything" Alvin jumped in
"But aside from the magic show we are great. We have been doing a bit of singing practice in our room since we got back onboard the Spaceship" explained Brittany
"Singing? What was you doing for? Just to have a bit of fun together and pass a bit of time on?" Asked Eleanor in a confused voice
"Well it was a lot of fun we had together...but we did it so we could preform in front of you two, Simon and Jeanette" replied Brittany
"Oh right that sounds great sister. You know me and Theodore will sit and listen to you both singing anytime" said Eleanor with a smile
"I think your both very talented" added Theodore
"That's great that you two will stop and listen to us, do you think Simon and Jeanette will do too?" Asked Alvin
"I would say no on this occasion unfortunately Alvin. They both like to see and hear you preform, but Simon and Jeanette have been gone a while now. Whatever they are doing must be very important and challenging for them" explained Eleanor
"That's fine, we will sing for you two anyway" replied Brittany
Brittany then looked over at Alvin
"Do you want to sing your song first? Or do you want me to sing my song first?" Asked Brittany
"I don't mind, we can sing your song first" replied Alvin with a smile
Alvin and Brittany both stood up and stood in the middle of the room
"OK, this song is the one I choose. I hope you both like it" called Brittany
Brittany got a microphone out of her pocket and started singing

After Brittany had finished singing, Theodore and Eleanor clapped and cheered
"Thank you guys, I'm guessing you both really enjoyed that" said Brittany starting to blush
"And here is the song I choose and have been practicing" called Alvin
Alvin did the same as Brittany and got a microphone out of his pocket too and started singing

Theodore and Eleanor started clapping and cheering again like they did for Brittany and Alvin took a bow
"Thank you, thank you. You have just been listening to the awesome Alvin" called Alvin getting a little carried away
"Hey! I did pretty good too you know!" Shouted Brittany
"I never said you didn't Brittany...but you didn't do as good as me" replied Alvin whispering the last part
"What was that? I didn't do as good as you?" Asked Brittany
"Oh come on you two, don't start fighting with each other. You both sung two amazing songs and we liked both of your performances equally" Eleanor jumped in quickly
"Really?" Asked Alvin and Brittany at the same time
"Yes really, you both did amazing! You should both be proud of each other, not fighting with each other" explained Eleanor
"Yeah your right...sorry about that last comment Brittany. I got a bit overconfident and carried away" admitted Alvin
"Don't worry about it Alvin, I'm sorry for shouting at you too...again" replied Brittany
"So are we cool again?" Asked Alvin
"Don't be silly Alvin, we never stopped talking to each other or anything" said Brittany with a giggle
The pair gave each other a hug
The hug lasted a few seconds before Jeanette came into the room
"Hey everyone, I got some amazing news to tell you all" called Jeanette
Alvin and Brittany let go of each other and the four of them looked at Jeanette
"What is it Jeanette?" Asked Brittany
"Is it something to do with Simon too?" Asked Alvin
"Is there any food involved?" Asked Theodore
"Please don't say your pregnant sister" called Eleanor
"No don't worry Eleanor, I'm not pregnant" replied Jeanette with a giggle
"But Simon was more involved then me with what I'm about to tell you" added Jeanette
"Well go on then, tell us. The suspense is killing me" called Alvin
"Simon and Towelie have made a blaster that will open up a portal and let us all travel to another dimension" explained Jeanette
"What? No way? Is that even possible?" Asked Eleanor
"Yes it's possible because Simon and Towelie have done it. So the six of us will be traveling and exploring another dimension soon!" Replied Jeanette with excitement
"OMG Brittany, I am so excited for this!" Said Alvin in an excited voice
"Me too, I can't wait to go and see what another dimension is like!" Squeaked Brittany
With that, the Chipmunks and Chipettes were all excited and couldn't wait to travel to another dimension. The six of them continued to talk among themselves about what they might see and find in another dimension and it only got them more happy and prepared for the unexpected
