Part 13 - Off We Go To Metropolis

In Space, Inside The Rocket
After visiting the planet Seario, the Chipmunks and Chipettes now have an idea of which direction Towelie's home is
However, Jeanette still wanted to go to Metropolis so they could get a DSP 4000 data chip and make use of the high tech Sat Nav...and to pick up some extra fuel
"Have you found Metropolis on the map Jeanette?" asked Eleanor
"No not yet, but it can't be too far away. The Grand Wizard told us it was close by Seario" replied Jeanette
"Is Metropolis a planet or some kind of service station?" asked Theodore
"I'm not sure but to me it sounds like it's going to be a small service station...I could be wrong though" replied Alvin
"I'm guessing Metropolis will be either a factory with a small shop or a shopping centre" called Brittany
"Hey Jeanette, I found it! I found Metropolis on the map!" called Simon in a happy voice
"Wow, it's closer then I thought" said Jeanette in a surprised voice
"So will it take us long to travel too?" asked Eleanor
"About 20 minutes away" replied Jeanette
"Horray!" called Alvin Brittany Theodore and Eleanor together
"Hopefully there will be some normal food at Metropolis, that other planet we went too had horrible food" said Theodore
"Now you mention it, I'm getting a bit hungry too" said Eleanor with a giggle
Simon and Jeanette turned the rocket to go in the direction towards Metropolis
Towelie walked down to the front of the rocket to Simon and Jeanette
"Hey you two...um...you know when we get the Sat Nav working" started Towelie
"Yeah" said Jeanette
"How long do you think it will be till I get back home?" asked Towelie
"I have no idea, could be days away or possibly weeks or months" replied Simon
"But don't you worry about that Towelie, we said we will get you back home" Jeanette jumped in
"Thanks you guys" replied Towelie
Towelie was about to turn around until something caught his eye
"Is it just me or are them stars in front of us getting bigger?" asked Towelie
Simon and Jeanette looked forward and saw what Towelie saw
"That's not good" said Simon in a worried voice
"What is it? What's wrong?" asked Jeanette also sounding worried
"We are about to go through an Asteroid Field" replied Simon
"Towelie you go back to the others and hang tight with them" called Jeanette
"Everyone listen up quickly, you must get back in your seats and put on your seat belts. We are about the fly through an Asteroid Field and it could get bumpy" Shouted Simon
Alvin Brittany Theodore and Eleanor all returned back to their seats and they all put on their seat belts
Theodore grabbed hold of Towelie and everyone prepared for the ride
Within seconds, the rocket had got to the Asteroid Field and Simon was starting to panic
"Simon, calm down! If we are going to get through this we need to stay calm and communicate with each other!" Called Jeanette quickly
"Yeah...your right" replied Simon still a little worried
There was a short silence until Jeanette spoke up
"Simon, go right" called Jeanette
Simon did as he was instructed and turned the rocket to the right
"Now quick go under that one" called Jeanette pointing at an Asteroid coming towards them
Simon did his best to get the rocket to go down and was lucky to just miss the Asteroid coming in front of them
"Oh man, I thought that was going to hit us" said Theodore
"Yeah me too" said Towelie
After moving the rocket in various directions, Jeanette had almost piloted Simon through the Asteroid Field
"Hey Simon, don't you have any lasers on the rocket for situations like this?" Asked Alvin
"LASERS! Where would we get lasers from on Earth?" Shouted Simon
"I don't know, I just thought you and Jeanette would have been able to get some or even build some lasers onto the rocket" Alvin shouted back
"Well we haven't got any lasers! Now let me drive!" Shouted Simon
"I'm sorry but I thought you was driving!" Alvin shouted back
"I AM DRIVING!" Shouted Simon
"YOU TWO STOP ARGUING! Your acting like little kids!" Shouted Brittany
There was a silence after Brittany spoke
"I was just saying..." Started Alvin before he was cut off
"No Alvin, be quiet! Let your brother get us through this Asteroid Field safely without you stressing him out anymore!" Brittany jumped in
Alvin didn't say anything, just nodded and looked at the ground
"Jeanette, keep helping Simon through the Asteroid Field" called Brittany
"Ok...Simon go to the left and then look out for that one to the right" said Jeanette
Simon went to the left and past the Asteroid on the right, but as soon as Simon thought he has made it through the Asteroid Field another one was coming from the left
"Finally, we made it through that horrible Asteroid Field" called Simon
"Simon look out! One is coming from the left!" Shouted Jeanette quickly in a worried voice
CRASH!
The Asteroid had hit the rocket and left a hole in the rocket
"Oh no, that needs fixing quickly before we lose all our air" called Simon
Simon took off his seat belt, put on his space suit and grabbed hold of an extra metal panel onboard the rocket
He made his way to the back of the rocket and opened the emergency exit door for about 5 seconds till he got outside
Simon closed the door behind him and made his way to the hole in the rocket
He placed the metal panel onto the hole and sprayed some sticky white form around the panel to hopefully keep it in place
Once Simon was satisfied with his work, he made his way back inside the rocket
He sat back down at the front of the rocket
"I'm glad you suggested taking some extra materials with us, otherwise we would have probably all lost our air by now" called Simon
"Yeah, I'm glad I suggested it too" replied Jeanette with a giggle
After making it through the Asteroid Field, Metropolis was minutes away
"Hey guys, we got some good news" called Simon
"What? What's the good news?" called Theodore in an excited voice
"We are very close to Metropolis" said Jeanette
"Yay, can't wait to see what Metropolis is like. Plus, I need to do a bit of walking to get my mind off that frightening past 10 minutes" explained Eleanor
Brittany looked over at Alvin and he still looked a little sad
"Alvin cheer up. I'm sorry for shouting earlier" said Brittany
"No I deserved it Brittany...if you didn't stop us arguing then we might have hit more Asteroids and wouldn't have made it through alive" replied Alvin
Brittany put her paw on Alvin's shoulder and smiled at him "Don't worry about it now Alvin"
Alvin turned and looked at Brittany
"Besides, we have made it through the Asteroid Field and we are all still alive aren't we" said Brittany with sarcasm and a giggle
"Yeah your right, we made it through safely and that's what matters" replied Alvin with a smile
Just then, Jeanette saw some bright lights up ahead
She looked down at the screen and jumped with excitement
"Hey everyone, we are here! We are at Metropolis" called Jeanette
Alvin Brittany Theodore and Eleanor all took off their seat belts and made there way to the front of the rocket
"OMG, it looks amazing!" Called Eleanor
"I know what you mean sister, there are so many different coloured lights on the outside" admitted Brittany
"I can't wait to see what it is like inside if it looks this good on the outside" said Alvin
Simon and Jeanette drove the rocket closer and as they did they could see lots of windows and signs for the different places inside
"You were right Brittany, you said Metropolis sounds like a shopping centre" said Alvin
"I know, I didn't think I would guess right" replied Brittany with a giggle
"So there should be a shop or cafe somewhere inside right?" Theodore jumped in
"Yeah I think so" replied Alvin
"The bright lights on the outside and signs for the different places inside, kinda reminds me of big shopping centres we have at home" said Jeanette
"Yeah I get you sister" said Eleanor
Simon had a look around for somewhere to land and park the rocket
After a couple of minutes, he found a space to park the rocket and landed the rocket safely
"So do you all know what we are looking for inside Metropolis?" Asked Simon
"Food! I'm starving!" Called Theodore
"Well you and Eleanor can look for food Theodore, but the main thing we are looking for is a DSP 4000 data chip and somewhere to get some fuel" replied Simon
"So what are we waiting for? Let's all go off in pairs around Metropolis and find what we are looking for" called Alvin
"Towelie, you can come around Metropolis with me and Theodore if you want" suggested Eleanor
"Yeah, thank you" replied Towelie
With that, the Chipmunks Chipettes and Towelie all left the rocket and went off in pairs around Metropolis
