Percy Jackson was not a man with an abundance of free time. Summers were full of Camp and training and quests, while school years consisted of studying until his head exploded and trying to avoid monsters.

But, every once in a while, Percy would find himself with nothing to do. He couldn't truly enjoy these moments, though, because he'd immediately begin going stir crazy. His ADHD and usual stress levels kept him from being able to handle a single calm moment. So, for something to do, Percy picked up a part time job at the local indoor swimming pool.

He loved the childrens' reactions when they saw little spouts of water shooting up beside them seemingly out of nowhere. He enjoyed blowing their minds by jumping into the water and not coming up for air for several minutes. But, most of all, he liked helping those who needed it. It gave him great satisfaction making sure exhausted swimmers got to the edge of the  pool safely. He loved seeing little kids who went a bit too far into the deep end when no one was looking stay afloat. Percy had finally found a way to use his powers for something besides battle, and it made him happy.
