Things started to become a lot more doable now as trials began to be won a lot more, even if they die they were laughing at the good times they had in the trial. Hope was ecstatic and couldn’t believe they were finally defeating the Entity.

Boris, on the other hand, was skeptical and a little paranoid. “I don’t trust this.” He shared his warnings with Hope, who sighed, looking at him. “Everyone else is happy Boris. This is a good thing!” Hope told him, making him cross his arms in frustration. “I’m not everyone Hope! People are here from different times, what makes you think that the years and years of preparation this.. this monster done would easily crumble without consequence?”

His voice was calm and stern but Hope didn’t want to hear it. She just wanted out of this horrible place and away from here. “I just-... I-...!” Hope fought back the tears that threatened to spill out and show itself.

Boris placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and looked at her. “This could be a bad or a good thing but prepare for anything that happens. Killing or weakening something this powerful will come with a cost, are you willing to sacrifice anything for wishful freedom?”

“Hey, you okay?” Autumn asked Herman, she leaned against the doorway while Evan slept off the pain of another hook being dug into his back. “Yeah, why do you ask?” Herman asked, looking up at her. “Your story…” She trailed off when he flinched.

“Sorry... I didn’t mean to.” Autumn told him, letting out a shaking sigh and hung her head. A lit tap made her look up, confused to see him patting down to a spot on the floor. “The reason Evan and I got along so well was that we shared the same demons..”

Herman woke up in his chair, strapped down tightly into it was a white light shown in his eyes. Herman winced at the light’s harshness and tried looking away but his head was stuck in place. “That was quite asleep huh?” Stamper hissed into his ear, making Herman tense up. “Wh-What are you-...”

He trailed off when Stamper pulled the light away and within moments, Herman’s eyes adjust to see his mind control device. “D-Don’t-..” Herman plead was drowned out by the shocks that entered throughout his body. He screams and tugged harshly against his restraints, Stamper’s laugh echoed in his head, ringing in his ears. Is this what crazy sounds like?

When the shocks were over, he hung his head, tears forming in his eyes. He was now a victim to his own creation. He didn’t deserve the mercy that he starved others. Herman’s face was violently jerked upwards to look at his mentor's twisted face.

“Hold still and it wouldn’t hurt as much dear~!” Herman tried hard to swallow the hard lump in his throat as he tried fighting back but each time he flinched backward, the metal that would keep his eyes open, stabbed him repeatedly, only to make him cry out in pain.

This finally, Herman felt the mouthpiece being roughly and painfully applied, the mix of blood and saliva streamed from his lips. He thought it was finally over until the unclick of the belt sent a chill down his back.

“He took advantage of his position on me and he planned from the start to put me in that contraption, the first day we designed it,” Herman told her soberly. “How did you know..?” Autumn asked, trailed off went she noticed he was crying.

“The contraption made you become controlled when it was attached to the machine. He...He..” Herman clenched his jaw as he looked away. “It’s okay, you don’t have to say it. I know.. I know.” Autumn told him, her hand on his shoulder.

“... It’s why I disabled it but after I did, it was stuck and I wouldn’t take it off for long periods of times, it would be dangerous for me. Although… I snapped because of it and bashed his head over and over and over.” Herman’s eye slightly twitched as he explained, “Then finally, his head split open so I did what he deserved. I operated on him and experimented with his brain, seeing how long I could keep him alive and tortured, like all the months and years he gave me.”
