I Wish You Didn't Love Me

Addison watched from a little off the stage as students filed into the auditorium. She watched Seth come in and sit at the back with his arms crossed and his lips tight in a line. Addison sighed, well, it was now or never.

"You've been cut right down the middle, crushed into a hundred parts, I know this might hurt a little, but I will only make it worse," she sang, looking at Seth in the crowd

"I want you but I can't be the reason why, you lose faith in everything that you find. I'm warning you now baby, go run and hide," she never took her eyes off of him and he glanced at her and looked away when he realized that she was singing for him

"I wish you didn't love me (I wish you didn't love me) I wish you didn't care about me at all, cause even I don't trust me do I'ma let you down before you fall, and maybe in another life, we can try this one more time, but right now please don't love me (But right now please don't love me), cause I don't deserve you at all (Cause I don't deserve you at all)," Seth's eyes made contact with hers again as she finished the chorus, but this is the part she wanted him to hear that was coming up

"Baby I wish things were different, I wish you were by my side, baby I ain't no magician, but I might disappear tonight," she sang, closing her eyes

"I wish you didn't love me (I wish you didn't love me) I wish you didn't care about me at all, cause even I don't trust me so I'ma let you down before you fall and maybe in another life, we can try this one more time, but right now please don't love me, cause I don't deserve you at all (cause I don't deserve you at all),"

"Don't love me, please don't love me, cause I don't deserve you at all, don't love me, please don't love me cause I don't deserve you at all,"  she made sure to look straight at Seth as she sang the last verse, she watched him, facial expression tight and shoulders tensed as he crossed his muscular arms over his broad chest

When the song ended, she watched him get up and walk out of the music room, she bit her lip while Miss Garcia complimented her use of words, perfectly put together music and everything else, but right now, she just wanted to know if Seth was okay

Seth sat on the fountain outside, he had his knees up to his chest, brown eyes filled with tears, his chest constricting uncomfortably every time he breathed. It wasn't fair.

"Seth!" He heard and looked up as Addison ran over, panting

She had looked all over the school for him and had finally found him sitting there, she felt her heart breaking when she finally went closer and he had tears in his eyes

"You keep running off without letting me talk to you," she said, sitting next to him

"What's there to say? You chose Dean," he replied, looking away from her and Addison pursed her lips

"Can I tell you a secret?" She asked and he side-eyed her

"The only reason we're not together is because I don't wanna hurt you." She admitted truthfully

"How would you have felt knowing you and I were together but there will always be a little piece of Dean in the back of my mind?" She asked him and he fully looked at her

"I could never fully love you and dedicate myself to you knowing that Dean always has the little part of me on lock. I rather you be hurt now, than something happen and you'd be hurt way worse later on. I hate knowing I broke your heart, I hate knowing there's a part of you that hates me." She admitted

"I don't hate you," he replied as quickly as possible because no, hell no, he didn't hate Addison, he couldn't hate her if he tried, cuz honestly, he had been trying

"I'm angry that it came to this, I'm angry that you chose Dean," he said

"But I could never hate you for it," he then said

"I'm so sorry about all of this Seth, I'm so problematic, but I loved you, I loved the warmth I feel when you hold my hand, I love your kisses, I love your smile and the way your eyes light up when you see me, but they don't light up anymore, they're blank with hurt and that sucks. I do love you Seth. I do. I just didn't wanna hurt you. I still don't wanna hurt you." She admitted

"You'll always be the one that got away," he told her smiling sadly

"In another life, if the circumstances were different, I would do everything to make you stay," she told him

"I'll never stop loving you," he admitted and she sighed

"Seth-" she began but he cut her off

"I learnt to love you more each passing day, I can pretend that you choosing Dean didn't hurt. I can pretend that I'm okay with being just friends, but don't ask me to pretend that I'm not in love with you," he told her

"I'm sorry for hurting you, I'm sorry for putting you through all this," she said and Seth smiled

"I rather you hurt me by telling me straight up than if you lead me on like an idiot," he replied

"So friends?" She asked and he gave her a big, watery smile

"Friends," he agreed and they hugged each other before Seth got up and left

Addison sighed and ran a hand through her hair, well that went well. She got up and went to the field, she had Biology free so she'd just chill on the field till the next period

She leaned against the tree and rested her head back

"Hey Adds," she heard and opened her eyes when a body fell next to her, she looked up into blue eyes and smiled widely

"Hey Dean," she replied and he stared at her smile for a while 

"I haven't been under this tree in so long," he said and then his eyes lit up as he turned to the tree while Addison closed back her eyes and he ran his fingers over the carving of their initials

He looked at Addison as he did and smiled, big and wide. Finally, he got his girl, after countless mistakes and rumours, he finally had Addison
