Dennise's POV
"Mom, have you seen my pump?" I half-yelled from my room. "Daniel, baby, stop crying na please, naiiyak na din si mommy."
Hinawi ko ang bangs ng anak ko at saka pinunasan ang luha niya.
My pump is missing, at hindi ko mahanap. Kailangan ko kasi nun to get milk from myself, nahihirapan kasi si baby na mag suck sa breast ko.
Okay! Too much information.
Pero people know why it is hard for him to suck, I hardly have a chest anyways.
"I can't find it, but I found your extra bottle of milk!"
"Oh, thank you!" I grabbed the milk from mom and showed it to my 6 month old baby. "Look what grandma found! Your milk!"
I smiled at my son when he hold onto my hand while drinking milk. Uhaw na uhaw ang bata, kagigising niya lang din kasi.
"Our Daniel is hungry," mom cooed. "Ginutom ka na naman ba ng mommy? Tell her to stop working muna kasi..."
"I am not working, mom."
"Sure, anak. You have been doing that crappy research since Daniel came out!"
"You can't blame me." I shrugged gently pulling the bottle from Daniel. He burped and smiled. "Awe, look at you!"
Hinawakan niya ang kamay ko at saka inilagay ang daliri sa bibig niya. I watched him in amusement when he was doing it while staring in my eyes.
His eyes were darker than his... ugh.
"Are you going to attend mass tomorrow?"
"Of course, mommy. Me and Daniel don't want to miss our date with his Father, right baby?"
He blinked at me.
"See? He won't miss it!"
Mom kissed the top of my head. She whispered I love yous to us before getting out of the room.
I was carrying a baby before we could even leave Italy. Nobody knew, even me, hindi ko alam na buntis ako. I was two weeks pregnant when I found out.
Funny, right? A miracle, they said. But I call it a blessing from God.
Too religious? Hindi rin. Yun lang ang alam kong sagot, at yun ang gusto kong sagot, that Daniel is a blessing from God.
There are science answers to this, and I am still trying to find out if my theory is possible.
I had Daniel 6 months ago. And it was the best month of my life. An angel came to my rescue me when everything looked dull.
"Daniel, mommy is going to change your clothes, okay?"
I gently pulled my hand which he followed with his gazes. His eyes found mine and he immediately cooed. Triny niyang abutin ang kamay ko by stretching his arms up.
"Ano bang meron sa kamay ko, anak?" I asked, touching his nose. "Good thing mommy uses sanitizer every minute."
He moved his head to the side. I covered my face and startled him by kissing his nose.
Tumawa siya. His laughter filled the room as I tickled him. He hold onto my face, laughing.
Pinalitan ko ng diaper ang anak ko at saka binihisan bago ipunta kila mommy.
My mom shook her head at me when I gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"I'll be back at 12, I promise."
"Why do you do this, Dennise?"
"I don't know, curiosity?"
"Curiosity? Or hindi mo lang matanggap?"
