My Silence

I wish you could hear me,
I wish you would listen to me,
yes, you could never know what I'm planning to say,
but that doesn't mean you can push me away;

My voice feels vulnerable compared to yours,
I could plan a speech for hours,
even if I know you wouldn't listen to a single word;

I get that you may think you have a higher power  over me,
but just listen,
I know it's me,
but I need you to listen from the start all the way to the end,
not just one part,
I need you to at least open up your cold, unwilling heart;

I need you to hear every sentence,
though I know you don't want to,
if only you knew,
that you can go on forever trying to control my silence;
