The Common Ballad Of Broken Hearts

I  when over  to see you,
tell you  I'm sorry and I love you,
and want you to know it's true,
I didn't mean to hurt you,
I didn't mean to tear us apart,
but when I found you, I saw that you went on your own to restart;

I gave you my heart,
I told you everything,
but I guess that never got us far,
caught you playing with fire,
I could never stop what your heart really desires,
I guess I did it all for nothing;

No one said it was an easy thing,
it's a shame that I couldn't see it coming,
no this isn't an easy thing,
now I'll just watch your flowers in the flames, burning;

I was just hoping,
only for it all to fall apart,
you left me with questioning,
I found the answer you just let me with my broken heart;

Why couldn't I tell you I love you,
I guess I never did know what to do,
Now it haunts me,
just to know wat we could be,
I wish together we could restart,
but I guess you never wanted my heart;

And no it was never an easy thing,
but I hope you never find someone who will leave you hurting,
it's a shame you never wanted me,
and we must live with our broken hearts,
and yes it was very hard,
but now we must live with our broken hearts;
