I lay there hoping,
That maybe once in these last few hours of the night,
I can rest,
Before time hits light,
and my body won't feel weak,
and my health won't be a the edge of it's peak;

The pills don't work,
My brain hurts,
No one believes me,
To them, I'm just sick,
Doctors take your pick,

Why is it taking so long,
why and how;
My dreams are heartless,
My eyes see nothing but darkness,
and yet they are open,
that is just what happens to the ones who are sleepless;
