Sebastian had carried me back to the manor and didn't seem tired at all. He sat me on the bed. I held out my foot to him, and he quickly pulled off my shoes. I hated just plain white. I would like to wear the color white if I wore a different color to go with it. Just plain white was sickeningly boring to me. Sebastian was just about to grab the tiara on my head when he suddenly stopped. "What is it?" I asked. He smiled. "You look lovely with this tiara." He said. I blushed and frowned. I am not a princess, yet everyone treats me like one. "I'm not a princess!" I complained. "No. You're not. You're a loyal, reliable and strong woman." Sebastian removed the tiara and sat it on the dresser. Strong? I know no meaning of that word. No one can be strong after witnessing the events I have experienced. The word was new to me. Completely new it was.

"What makes you think I'm strong?" I asked.

Sebastian unzipped my dress and it fell to the floor. "Everything that's happened to you has made your hatred grow stronger and stronger, yet you still manage to carry on." Sebastian opened the closet door and unhooked a purple dress as he spoke. He pulled the dress over my head, and as the dress settled in place, Sebastian smiled. "Your life is like a steady rope and you constantly balance yourself decision after decision, step after step." Sebastian zipped up the back of my dress and fixed the collar.

"To me," he whispered,"you are strong."

I understood now. I was strong because I didn't let anything get in my way. Sebastian was right. I was strong. I turned my head to him, and his eyes glistened from the sun light that shone through the window. He held my arms from behind and gave a low laugh. "What?" I asked. "Remember what you said a few months ago?" He asked.

"Umm. What did I say?"

"You couldn't dance."

"Oh, right."

I blushed at the thought. "Would you like to schedule a practice later?" Sebastian asked. "Yes, around sunset would be nice." I decided and Sebastian released my arms. There was a knock at the door and Sebastian answered it. "Mei Rin. What is it?" Mei Rin blushed at the sight of Sebastian, and I couldn't help but smile. Her actions and gestures around Sebastian are too adorable to ignore. "I have a letter for Madame Jae." Mei Rin said smiling brightly. Her happy attitude rubbed off on me, and I couldn't stop smiling. That was until I read the letter.

"'Watch yourself. We are watching?'" I read the huge bold, red letters and frowned. Someone was watching me? Why? Just when I thought I could take another break, I'm pulled into another problem. I can't fall off this rope though, I need to keep balance. Sebastian eyed the back of the letter as I held it in my hands. "Sebastian?" I called his name and he walked towards me. "I'm afraid....there is more on the back.." Sebastian grabbed the letter and flipped it to the other side. A picture of Matilda was there, and her and her father's faces were circled in red marker. It felt as if my heart had broken into millions of pieces and were stabbing me everywhere inside. I was on the verge of tears. "Could this be.....the one she used to call...Master?" I tried to talk, but my voice was cracking. Matilda was in danger once again. What am I going to do? I slammed the letter on the desk and tears ran down my face. Not Matilda.

"Why Matilda? She's...only a child.."

I wiped my face as the tears dripped onto the photo. I felt my legs go weak, and I slammed my fists down onto the desk. "WHY MATILDA!!?" I screamed and threw everything off my desk. "Jae!" Sebastian called my name. I grabbed one of my books and threw it at the wall. "Why Matilda!!?" I cried. "Bastards! She's only a child!" I grabbed another book, but Sebastian grabbed my wrist in mid air. "Jae, calm down!" He exclaimed. I dropped the book and fell to my knees. Sebastian kneeled down in front of me and placed his hands on my shoulders. I covered my face and cried. "She's only....a child..She doesn't know what's happening." I cried. Sebastian pulled me in an embrace and gently rubbed my back. What was this? I opened my eyes and found myself in his arms. He held me tightly as he stroked my hair. "Jae. Please calm down." His voice was soft and calm. How can he be calm? "Jae I can't have you going mad." Sebastian's tone of voice seemed a little hurt. "Sebastian?" I pulled away and looked into his eyes. "Don't go mad, Jae. Stay in balance." His hands cupped my face and his eyes glowed red. "But...Matilda.." I was on the verge of tears again. Sebastian pulled a few strands of hair out of my face, giving me a better view of his face. Somehow I felt calmer than before. "Okay." I said and sighed heavily. I needed to focus like he said, and I can't go insane. I have to calm down in order to protect Matilda. Why were they even after her? "Sebastian." I called. He smiled at the sound of my voice. "I order you to help me protect Matilda and Neil."

He nodded. "Yes, Madame Jae."

Sebastian helped me up and wiped my face once again. Suddenly something came over me, and I grabbed his wrist. I quickly pulled off his glove, and the contract seal glowed a dashing purple color. "Jae?" Sebastian called my name and I looked at his face. I don't know why I did that, but u just wanted to. His nails were black and I smiled. "How are your nails black?" I asked. "They turned this color after I became a demon." I frowned. Sebastian used to be a human? How interesting...

Sebastian's POV:

Jae released my wrist and stared down at the floor. Her black hair covered the side of her face, and I couldn't help but to look at her. "Jae?" I called her name and she looked up at me. Jae's big brown eyes glistened from tears that welled in the corners of her eyes. "Sebastian.. You can never leave my side. Until the very end, you will stay with me." As she said these words a tear fell from her right eye, and I wiped it away. "As you wish, Jae." I replied and smiled down at her. Her lips curved into a sweet smile and her facial expression softened. "I believe in you." She whispered, and I felt my face heat up just a bit. Jae's eyelashes fluttered blissfully as she blinked back another wave of tears. What is she saying? Is she sick? Suddenly Maddie came in. "Roger Hildago is here." She informed and Jae frowned in anger. This should be interesting.
