The doctor carefully walked in the army's quarter with her files and reports held against her chest. Doctor Teresa still couldn't believe what she just discovered, a million question and hypothesis was running through her head. If in hindsight she knew Luna's blood was as shocking as this, she would have never allowed her to leave her office that morning.

She was surprised that she left with the fugitives, but wondered nonetheless why the army was clearly trying to kill both girls.

But Teresa wasn't born yesterday, she heard Cammy mumbling about zombies and demons in her sleep as she treated her forearm and fever days ago. She knew the girls had seen something the army thinks is better to be kept a secret.

But this will change their minds. Or at least, she better understand a thing or two. This meeting needs to happen.

People in Camp Wasp need to be on the same page. Teresa had just discovered something and she was wondering if it was naive of her to trust the military who had just killed Cammy's father with that knowledge.

"Doctor Goldberg, welcome" the general greeted "i assembled every person in charge here, you said there's something that can't wait"

"Please general, you all need to sit down for this" Teresa started "the girl, Luna Jurado? The one who left with the fugitives..."

"yes, we're all familiar with her" Jacen ushered

"she did a blood test right before she left" Teresa continued

"is this for real Tery?? You called us here about the test she couldn't see? Just throw it away. She's not coming back" Jacen puffed and laughed with his fellow officials

"no" Teresa stuttered "it's about- her blood... She has...had, Leukemia"

There was silence in the room

The general seemed bored "so she has Leukemia... So what? She left. She'll die. Not our responsibility. It's a radiated world, anyone is at high risk of getting cancer"

He was actually grateful that he wouldn't have to kill her himself if she managed to escape the group of soldiers he sent after her group of clowns.

"no sir, it's not just that. She's radiated too. But" Teresa spoke slowly

She spread her sheets and pictures on the table "the radiation she has, it's like... It's acting like a virus? But it's attacking and killing the cancer cells in her blood. I have it recorded by the microscope camera. I did many other tests on a lot of the survivors here, and everyone is fine. But it's fascinating and never seen before"

"call Doctor Francis here at once" General texas ordered his assistant

"Doctor Goldberg, how does radiation poisoning act like a virus. It's impossible" A man on the table asked

"it's like the virus itself is radioactive? And that virus is purely vicious, it was killing the cancer cells effectively. It first gets stuck to them like a fungus or a mushroom, and starts destroying them slowly. Once its done, just like a mushroom, it dies. So that virus is dependent of the cancer to survive" Teresa explained

"then it is true" Doctor Francis, a 32 year old handsome black man showed up in medical robe "Luna Jurado and Cammy Carlos both caught the virus from the doomed"

"the doomed?" Teresa asked with confusion

"Luna was lucky she had cancer. If she didn't, she'd have turned." Francis voiced his thoughts

"turned?" Teresa asked horrified

"the virus travels by touch, Cammy most definitely had it before she got very sick and treated. She had no cancer, but her body rejected and fought the virus. Which is to say the least, amazing. She's immune. We'd find rare survivors out there who has been in contact with the doomed who have a remarkable immune system. Unfortunately they died because of the bombs" Francis thought to himself
