Chapter 53

"Hey, Y/N." Minho." Gally said. He looked from where you jumped out the window. "You guys are nuts." he shook his head. "And so are you." you say. "How did you even survive?" you ask. He smirks at you then walks away. "I'll explain later." said Thomas. You exchange looks with Minho, then follow the others.

Lights searched for you. You ran as one of the lights almost caught you and ducked. "Well, they're definitely pissed." said Gally. "How far are the tunnels?" Thomas asked. "Twelve blocks from here, maybe."

Newt started coughing. You almost forgot he had the virus. You look at him with worry. "We can make it." Gally said. "Newt, how are you feeling." you ask. "Y/N-"
"-I already know." you voice broke. "I feel terrible." he says. "It's good to see you though. I missed you terribly."

You started to cry. "Y/N, don't worry." said Thomas. "Once we get to Brenda, he'll get a serum."
"Let's go." he said. Thomas walked to you and Newt and helped him up. He stumbled a bit. "You alright?" Thomas asked. "Yeah." said Newt. 

You helped support Newt around your shoulders. You sped walked as fast you could, then you hear a big explosion, then start to see fire. "We're supposed to take down WICKED, not the whole damn city." said Gally. "Gally, come on." said Thomas, then walked on.

You walk a little more "The tunnels are right up ahead." said Gally. You heard yelling in the distance. "Shit." said Gally.

You hid behind a bush. Newt started to cough again. WICKED men were surrounding the street. "Damn it." said Gally. "What are they waiting for?" asked Minho. Then an explosion followed by an angry mob of people screaming and even more explosions. "Get down!" Gally yelled.

There was a whole war going on. People shooting each other. Bombs going off. 
"We gotta go! We gotta go!" Gally said panicked. 

You and Thomas help Newt back up and start running/speed walking again. After a few blocks walk, you found a different hiding spot to camp out at to stay away from the war. It was the biggest fight/war you've seen yet.

Thomas was talking to someone on a walkie-talkie on the other side from where you and Newt were at. "Don't worry we're coming to get you." said a familiar voice. Brenda. "Our ride's here! Just look for us near the tunnels."

You, Newt, Minho, and Gally look at Thomas. "We gotta go, now." said Thomas. You helped Thomas pick Newt up once again and started running past all the angry people, the explosions, the destruction. "All right, Newt we're almost there." said Gally. "Just leave me." said Newt. "No!" you yell as several tears stream down your face.

You couldn't give up on him. You couldn't lose him. He was your world, your everything. You knew you couldn't go on without him. 

A car on fire was thrown across in front of you. People charged across the street. Not at you, but WICKED's facilitators. You look up to see a Berg flying over your heads.

 "Okay it's them. We gotta go." said Thomas, turning back to you and Newt. You looked at Newt. He looked even worse than before. He was growing pale and his veins started popping out. "Go without me, man. You should just-"
a black liquid came from his mouth. Black veins were on his face. He started wheezing.

"Minho." said Thomas. "Run ahead, grab the serum, and get back tous as soon as you can." Minho looked at Thomas like he was crazy. "Minho, go." you say sternly. "I'll cover." said Gally.
Minho looked at Newt. "Thank-thank you, Minho." said Newt. "Hey, you just hang on. You hear me?"

Minho then turn tail and ran like he was back in the maze. Gally and Minho turned the corner. "Okay, they're through." said Thomas. You look from Thomas and Newt then started to cry. This was like your nightmare/illusion come to life. The black liquid from his mouth, the blackened veins, the loss of color in his skin. It scared you more than anything. You were usually more angry then scared. For the first time, since you came out of the box with no memory. You were literally scared. You thought you were gonna lose everything. 

Newt started breathing heavily. You start to panic. "Thomas!" you say. Thomas rushed over. "Hey! Newt! Hey! We gotta try this. We gotta move now. Y/N, help me get him up. Come on."
"No. No, Thomas." Newt reached for his chest. "No, Newt. Later. We gotta go."
He yanked a necklace off hi chest. "Look, you gotta take this!" Newt yelled. 
"We gotta get you up!"
"JUST TAKE IT!" Newt screamed. You and Thomas stop. You cup your hand over your mouth. "Please Tommy. Please. Y/N, please."
Thomas grabbed the necklace and placed it in his pocket. You look at Thomas. 

"Y/N. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Newt said. "No. We're gonna get you through this." you say sternly, wiping  a tear from your cheek. "I can't lose you. And I'm not gonna allow it anyway." you then try to get him up. Al three of you yell as you start running., dodging more bullets and explosions. 

You dragged him across the street. "Come on, Newt. We're almost there." said Thomas. Newt's body becomes limp and heavy and you and Thomas drop him. "NEWT!" you scream. His breathing starts to sound like hiccups. You sobbed hard as you and Thomas tried to get him back on his feet. A few steps later you fail and you all go back down.

Then a voice came on the PA. It was Teresa. "Thomas, can you hear me? Y/N, can you?" 
You and Thomas turn around. "I need you both of you to listen to me. I know you have no reason to trust me. But, I need the both of you to come back. You can save Newt. There's still time for him. There's a reason Brenda isn't sick anymore. It was your guys' blood. Do you understand? She isn't sick because you cured her. She doesn't have to be the only one. All you have to do is come back. And this will all finally be over. Please, come back to me. I know you'll do the right thing."

Then several street lights shut off and you see Newt stand. "Newt?" you asked. "newt?" said Thomas. Newt turned around. His eyes were black. You gasped. Newt then growled and charged at Thomas. 

You scream as Thomas pushes you out of the way and pushes Newt to the ground. "Newt! Newt! It's me!" said Thomas. Newt got up and charged at him again. They were rolling around on the floor while you stood there petrified, not knowing what to do (for the first time in forever).

Newt and Thomas separated, then his next words killed you. "TOMMY, KILL ME!" 
"No!" you scream and run towards him. "No, Y/N!" Thomas pushes you again out of the way. Newt charged at Thomas again. They were strangling each other then Newt stopped. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Tommy." he looked back at you. "Y/N. I love you."
Then he reached for Thomas's pant leg and grabbed his gun and aimed it at his head. "No!" you scream in blood murder and charge at them.

Thomas grabbed at the gun from Newt, causing it to slide on the floor. You run to it as Newt growled inhumanly. You grabbed the gun and as you did, you felt something in your pocket. You reach in your pocket and take it out. 
How could I be so stupid? you think to yourself

You turn to see Newt stabbing at Thomas with a knife. He's growling like a full on Crank now. You run at both of them with a battle cry as Newt kicked Thoma off of him, Newt swinging the knife.

You tackle Newt to the floor and stab the needle in his neck with a blood curdling scream. Then gave out a cry of pain.
