Chapter 33: A Plan

Still Your POV

I got to the cafeteria and when I searched for my friends, they were already running up to me, Newt limping in the lead. "Hey guys!" I said happily. Newt came up to be the first one to embrace me. "I swear love, you get more beautiful every time I see you."
"Thanks Newt." I blush. I take a good look at him. He was wearing a white long sleeve shirt with brown pants.

"I don't know, she's kinda starting to look like the Rat-Man." said Minho. I knew immediately what he was talking about. "Yeah, well I recently found out that Rat-Man, is actually my father."

A bunch of what?'s echoed around me. "Is that why you're getting special treatment?" Minho asked. I shrugged "I wouldn't necessarily call it special treatment."

They all furrowed their eyebrows to me. "We should sit down."

We all sat down at a table where I told them the story.
This morning, they gave me tests. My first one was done when I was still half asleep. They gave me bacon and eggs that smelled like bitter almonds."
"-Arsenic?" Frypan asked. I nodded. "They tried to poison you?" Newt said disbelievingly. I nodded "When they found out I knew, they said I passed my first test. Then later that morning they drew blood, gave me shots, and studied my brain waves. It was strange because when they did, I got some memories back."

"Which ones?" Thomas asked. "Remember that dream I told you that kept happening? It was a memory. It actually happened. Janson was in it. He's..." I trailed off because I knew I was being watched because one of the guards were eyeing me. "Y/N, what's wrong?" Newt asked. I looked down and muttered "I'm being watched." 
I could feel Newt scooting closer to me, my thighs touching his. "Did you get any other memories?" Thomas asked. I looked up and said "Yes."
"Which ones?" he asked.
"I wasn't in just one maze."
"What?" everyone said in unison.

"It was a maze full of girls and only one guy-"
"-Aris?" asked Thomas. I gave Thomas a strange look. How did he know him?
"Yes." I reply. "I actually should go talk to him." I stood up and saw Aris in his hoodie. "Aris!" I said trying to get his attention. "Y/N?" Aris replied. 

I walked to his table and sat down, remembering how to use sign language
'I remember!' I signed to him. Aris eyes widened happily. 'You do?' he signed back.
'I was given back the memory.' I signed in reply.
'I'm glad you remember.' Aris signed. 'Where are the others? Sonya, Harriet, Danielle, Erika?'
Aris stood there with a sad look on his face. 'I don't know. I think they're gone.'
'I wish I was there. I'm sorry I had to up and die on you guys.'
'Don't worry about it. Is there something you need to tell me?'
'Yes! Well, sign it to you because these bastard guards are watching my every move.'
'Then, tell me!'  Aris signed
'You remember WICKED, right?'  I asked 
'Yes'
'Right now,we are all in their custody.'
'What?'  Aris' eyes went big.
'I know because I was given another memory and my father worked for WICKED. My father is Mr. Janson.'
'Are you serious?'
'Yes.'
'I suspected as much from that guy.  The people that are drawn to go away from here are actually placed somewhere else in the building. They bring in a new batch every night like clockwork.'
'We need to so something. We need to get  out of here before we end up just like those poor kids.' I sign to him
'Tell me the plan.' Aris signed back.

3rd Person POV

Meanwhile, the boys at the other table were looking at you and Aris dumbfounded. "What are they doing?" Frypan asked. "I don't know, man. But it looks like one intense game of rock, paper, scissors." Minho commented. "That kid is making me nervous." said Newt. "Don't sweat it, Newt." said Minho. "She loves you and you know that."
