How to Save a Life: Newt x Reader (EDITED)

Chapter 20: The Same Mistake, Twice

The next morning, the two of you made sure to wake up early so you're not caught. 
You woke up with him in your arms and your legs tangled up with his. You get ready for the day and and meet Minho and Alby by the doors. Alby was going in today because he said he needed to accompany Minho to look for Ben's body.

You were worried about both of them because they were like big brothers to you after what happened to Justin. "Be careful out there." you tell Alby. "After what happened with Ben, none of us knows what could happen."
"Don't worry, Y/N. I'll be okay." Alby reassured you. You turned to face Minho "Take care of yourselves." you say sternly. "No worries, Y/N. I'm sure we can handle it." Minho replied. You threw him a hard glance before the doors opened and they ran in. You and Newt waved to them before going to start work.

Small time skip------------------------------

You decided to help Frypan in the kitchen to help with his stew. At lunch, it started to rain and everyone ran to cover. But, it was strange, it never rained here before. You know for sure because Alby told you. 
 You, Newt, Chuck, Thomas, and some of the others went to Homestead. 

"They should be back by now." said a nervous looking Thomas. "What happens if they don't make it?" he looked back at you and Newt, who had his arms around you. "They're gonna make it." Newt reassured Thomas. Thomas walks up to the both of you. "What happens it they don't?"

You were getting kind of annoyed at Thomas's ongoing question, which also worried you. They were in fact supposed to be back by now. It doesn't take long to find a dead body.

Soon, the rain stopped about thirty minutes later. You all went to the front of the maze doors, nervously waiting. There was a stiffened silence. "Can't we send someone after 'em?" Thomas asked. "It's against the rules." said Gally. "They either make it back or they don't." 
Your worry grew more and more. You could hardly bare it. It was like having to go to the bathroom while you were hiking a mountain with no restrooms nearby (that actually happened to me once lol, but it was not fun)
"We can't risk losing anyone else." said Newt.

Then, the familiar sound of the the doors getting ready to close sounded. "Let me in!" you yell, jerking a leg forward. Newt grabbed your torso "No, Y/N!" Newt yelled. "We can't expect the same miracle happen twice!" 
You were struggling in his grasp. You wanted to go in so bad. You needed to help Alby and Minho. You wanted to risk another night in the maze.

"There!" Thomas pointed out as you heard the familiar sound of Minho's voice. You stopped, looking almost relieved, though panic still flooded over you. "Wait, there's something wrong." Newt commented. Then you saw it. Minho was carrying Alby on his back. Alby was stung.
"No!" you yelled as tears threatened to rise to your corneas. You struggled even more in Newt's grasp.

"Come on Minho, you can do it!" yelled Chuck. Everyone yelled to Minho in encouragement, but that didn't make him go any faster. "They're not gonna make it." Newt said, panicked. You couldn't bare to look. Tears started to fall as you screamed Minho and Alby's name.

Then, Thomas went for it and ran in. Newt couldn't grasp him, because he was already having trouble handling you. "Thomas, no!" Chuck yelled. You looked up as his figure disappeared behind the walls. All three of them were now trapped.

Everyone stood there in shock. "Well, he just pulled a Y/N." said Gally, using you as a reference. You gave him a disgusted look and charged at him slipping from Newt's grasp. But, some of the boys held you back with a 'whoa!'

"You dare say that again, you shank and I will wipe you out like I did that Griever!" you huffed as Frypan and Newt held you back.

Gally stared at you blankly. You then pushed yourself away from Fry and Newt's grasp and stormed  away to your hut. 

You went to bed without dinner and luckily no one, not even Newt came to disturb you about what just happened.

You couldn't sleep a wink that night, you didn't think anyone did...

Sorry the update is a few days late, but I did two to make up for it! Your welcome! Yes, I know they're short, but it sort of adds on.

This is the last update for today. Hopefully I cane make an update or two tomorrow. Don't worry, things will start to get less boring and a little more interesting.

I'm done with drafting the first movie, I'm at the beginning of Scorch Trials now, so to speak. Scorch Trials has more plot to your back story. You'll see *Evil smirks*

Imma make a promise to make sure to COMPLETE this book even if there aren't many readers because who knows how many reads I'll get when I finish?
