We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together...Like Ever.

I'll always remember when they started recording the third album. That third album was when my whole life just fell apart. The worst part about it all, was I could've stopped it. I could've just chosen Demi and stopped everything that was about to happen. I didn't though, I made my bed and I was about to lie in it.

Demi got out of jail and came straight to the studio, or in this case, the church that was temporarily converted into a studio. The acoustics were fantastic and the producer wanted to capture their live vibe on the album. They were actually excited about it. I could care less. The Nick situation was eating away at me and it was all I could do to focus.

By the time the media circus surrounding Demi's arrest subsided, I was completely drained. Jamie handled it like a pro, but on a personal level it killed me. It felt like I didn't even know her. When I saw the leaked pictures of Chloe, I had never felt so betrayed. I didn't understand how Demi could do something like that. I was still angry with her.

As soon as she walked through the door, I felt uncomfortable. That was new. She was usually comforting to me, but after Chloe I found her to be frightening.

"Demi was able to walk through the doors without bursting into flames so I'd say we're off to a good start." Joe grinned.

"Eat a dick Jonas!" Demi said as she threw whatever she was holding in her hand his direction.

He ducked and laughed.

"I'm kidding!" He chuckled.

I sat in silence. I refused to acknowledge her.

"You ok babe?" Nick asked as he sat next me on one of the couches.

"Yeah." I answered as I continued to glare at Demi.

She didn't even notice or care.

He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a hug. I welcomed the display of affection. She seemed to noticed that. I felt her eyes on me the second Nick touched me. I kissed him just to annoy her. It worked too.

Once Matt and Johnny showed up, they started the process of recording. It was interesting to see them create music this way. They usually write separately then brought what they had and wove it all together. This would end up being a truly collaborative album. It would be their most creative and raw album and it would also be their most commercially successful album.

I spent most of the day watching and listening. Demi seemed sober and in good spirits. No one talked about Chloe or the time Demi spent in jail. Chloe ended up dropping the charges. She refused to talk to me after the night I went to visit her, so I never understood why. It was all very...convenient, for Demi anyway.

"This song would work better as a duet." Matt said as he looked at the lyrics.

"I agree, but how many vocalists do you know that can hang?" Joe asked.

"Demi can." Nick smiled.

"It's not purely singing. She'd have to do some unclean vocals and I don't think that's her thing." Matt said dismissing the suggestion.

"I'm willing to try." Demi spoke up.

"You'll fuck your voice up if you don't do it right." Matt said as he glanced toward her. "It's not worth it."

"Looks like you're gonna have to give me some vocal lessons." She smirked.

Matt sighed. "I don't know Dem..."

"Oh come on." Johnny cut in. "Let the girl scream her face off. She could probably use the stress relief anyway."

"Very true." Joe laughed in agreement.
