So many types of pills exist in this world
Pills to make your head spin
Pills to make your stomach shrink
Pills to force the contents of guts to spew out your lips
Pills to knock you out for a few hours so the weighted, grey bags under your eyes
aren't as noticeable as usual
Pills to ease the pain
Pills meant to stop the trembles in your hands
Pills to refine your focus
Pills to help make you forget
This world is a world built on pills
So many different types
Each overdose is unique
To each his own I suppose
You are physically able to pick your poison
Like a custom made cocktail just for you
Xanax, Ativan, Fluoxetine, Oxytocin,
Sertraline, Diazepam, maybe a hint of Lorazepam
and why not throw in a little cough syrup just for the fun of it
How about the ones with names you could never pronounce,
Ones with three Xs and one Z
To put it simply,
Pills, they are what we thrive off of
Or what we die off of
But of all the pills in this filthy world to get addicted to
I just had to choose you
And I think you above all else
