Empty beds
Empty hands
Vacant eyes
Vacant holds

What have I become
In your hazel irises
What do they reflect
As we shift uncomfortably
In suffocating silence
With locked gazes

How hath love abandoned you
And lust taken its place

But lust has never been weighted
And though it chokes your vocal chords
It still weigh less than admiration
Especially as it rots away
Captive in the cage of your ribs

It feels like nothing
It practically is nothing

And as emotion withers away
Behind your chipping fingernails
And greying hair
You begin a similar cycle

Almost as if you were the sand
The rocky grit
Raspy in voice
And rough in texture
In the bottom half
Of a shattered hourglass

By disposing of infatuation
Ridding your sight of me
You've left yourself empty

And while a refill might be destined
In your clouded future
It shall never be soon enough
For guess what you did

Though you once loved,
You now lust

A/N: Ahh, welcome to my second poetry book. I'm so excited about this one! Now with this one, I'm not doing labels anymore. I'm kinda sick of always writing (acrostic) or (freeverse) in the title so I'm sorry but no labels. I hope you enjoy. :)
