jaemin's pov

"dude, i can't believe it actually worked." haechan exclaimed as he walked on the sidewalk next to me. we were on our way home from school.

i shook my head, still in disbelief. "it could be a coincidence. i mean, how in the world does a little necklace stop someone from having nightmares? it doesn't make a lot of sense."

"jaemin," haechan rolled his eyes. "how can it just be a coincidence if it happened twice?"

touché.

"you got me there. i don't know, man. it's all so weird." i sighed, kicking a rock on the ground below me. "why is she even having nightmares every night in the first place? it doesn't make any sense."

he shrugged, tugging his backpack up on his shoulders. "lots of things don't make sense, i guess. but if dream catchers really work, then she'll have to keep one with her every night."

"yeah," i nodded in agreement, still puzzled. "but i guess the logic doesn't really matter. as long as she's not having nightmares anymore, i'm happy."

haechan laughed.

"what?" i tipped my eyebrow up, glancing over at him. why would he laugh?

"i just find it kind of funny how she's the only thing that's ever on your mind, yet you still claim you only see her as a friend. okay. makes sense." he laughed again, but this time he rolled his eyes, too, adding some sass to his speech. i scoffed.

"i don't like her like that."

i thought i was confident in those words, but as soon as i spoke them, it felt otherwise.

"that's a lie, and we both know it." haechan spoke with a smirk. i kind of wanted to punch him right now. "trust me, nana. i'm the king of sensing this kind of thing."

"whatever," i said under my breath as i spotted my house just ahead of us.

"you didn't deny it!"

"shut up, haechan." i rolled my eyes, wishing i could just teleport to my house from here as i sped up my steps.
