I wiped my hands on my pants before knocking on Cassia's door.

My mind was a swarm of thoughts full of Jade.

What would it be like when we see each other?

Does she still look the same?

Has she missed me like I've missed her?

"Hi." Some guy greeted as the door opened.

He looked a little scrawny and had a coffee mug in his free hand.

"Uhh," I took a step back and looked at the apartment number. "Does Cassia live here?"

"Yeah. Are you Ash?"

I nodded.

And who the fuck are you?

"Oh. Okay." He opened the door wide. "Come in. Cass is still getting ready."

I walked through the door hesitantly.

"So, uh, how do you know Cassia?" I asked taking in her tidy apartment.

"I live across the hall. I crashed with her last night." He shut the door behind him.

I raised a brow.

"Really?" I asked

"Yeah." He took a seat on one of the chairs and sipped his coffee. "How do you know, Cass?"

My blood heated up everytime he called her Cass.

"She's my girlfriend." I said flatly.

He choked on his coffee.

Yeah, that's right, douchebag.

"Girl that's a friend." Cassia clarified as she walked out of her room struggling to put in a necklace.

"Oh, okay. Cool." He nodded.

"Ash, help." She stopped in front of me and turned around.

I took the necklace's clasps from her dainty fingers and wrapped it around her neck. She swiped her hair to the side and after three tries I finally was able to clasp the necklace.

"You look great." Mr. Douche said from his seat.

Ugh, was she seriously blushing?

"Thanks, Felix." She dropped her gaze to the floor and smiled.

Felix. Even his name sounded douchey.

"We should probably get going." I nodded towards the door.

"Oh, yeah. You're right." She turned to Felix. "Lock up after yourself. The locksmith said he'd be by in the next hour."

"Cool," he placed his coffee on the table in front of him and stood up. "Thanks again for last night."

He wrapped her up in a hug.

I rolled my eyes.

"Of course." She giggled pulling away. "It was fun. I'll see you around."

"Bye, Cass." He smiled.

She waved as we walked out the door.

"So, you and Freddy boy?" I asked when we got into my car.

"Felix." she corrected. "I met him yesterday. I really like him."

"Hold on. You met him yesterday and he spent the night with you?" Both my brows raised. "Are you not the innocent little girl I thought you were?"
