'ZIE' is a 2016 novel written by Mark Sato on Wattpad that traces the deepening relationship between a civil engineering student, Dom and a Fraternity Master, Zie.

I wrote this part with a heavy heart. It is quite a shock when I saw post about Zie Naval's death. I thought at first it was a trol post. Knowing our social medias today everything looks real. Until I saw the post of his uncle, I think, that post shared by my friend on Facebook. My questions were given confirmation. Zie Naval passed away last Aug 29, 2018 the cause of his death is still unknown. Some say he died at HIV for having a pneumonia. But I don't want to dwell on some other people's hearsay. Masakit sa parte ko bilang isang manunulat na ginawa kong inspirasyon si Zie Naval sa nobela kong ito. Si Zie Naval ay ang aking visual representation ko ng main character ko dito. Up to now, I still having goosebumps. I still cannot believe what happen. Just recently, he just featured on KMJS. You can never really tell what will happen on our lives. Please do understand that I wont let this be the reason to not make my novel finished. Zie is only a few chapters away from It's finale.
This novel is dedicated in loving memory of John Carlo "Zie" Naval. May his soul rest in peace. Thank you for being an imaginary representation of Zie on my novel. May God bless your soul.
